Future of 7 HGTV Shows Still Uncertain After Shocking Summer Changes

The fate of more than a dozen HGTV shows was revealed during the summer of 2025, leaving many fans shocked about all of the changes. Multiple stars confirmed their series had been canceled, including “Bargain Block,” “Married to Real Estate,” and “Christina on the Coast.” But others celebrated renewals, fall premiere dates, and new shows in the works.

Still, the future is not clear for some shows. As of August 30, 2025, the status of several HGTV series is still up in the air. Here’s a rundown of the shows that have yet to be officially renewed.

HGTV Stars Leslie Davis & Lyndsey Lamb Have Not Revealed Fate of ‘Unsellable Houses’

One year after the fifth season of “Unsellable Houses” premiered — on September 4, 2024 — twin sisters Leslie Davis and Lyndsey Lamb have not provided any updates about filming a sixth season.

The duo, who transform homes in the Pacific Northwest that have struggled to sell, have ignored many comments from fans asking about the show’s future. But on June 30, Lamb gave a cryptic response to someone who commented on a post about attending a local antiques festival.

The fan gushed, “I love you guys. You are so cute and I love your show!!! if I didn’t live in Iowa I would definitely have been there this weekend so I could meet you!!!!!!! When can we see new episodes?????”

Lamb responded, “we are working on new stuff now,” leaving fans to wonder if that meant they were working on new homes for the show or had moved on from the show to work on other projects.

HGTV Hasn’t Provided New Premiere Date for ‘Don’t Hate Your House With the Property Brothers’

Perennial favorites Drew and Jonathan Scott had originally planned to star in three different series during the summer of 2025, starting with a new season of “Celebrity IOU”, which did premiere on July 9.

Their newest show, “Chasing the West,” was originally supposed to premiere the next night, but got pushed back to July 30. That series, in which the twin brothers help clients trade in city life for ranch life, currently airs on Thursdays at 9 p.m. Eastern time.

A third show — “Don’t Hate Your House With the Property Brothers” — had been initially scheduled to premiere its second season on the 30th, but HGTV quietly updated the press release about the series to change its premiere date to “later this year.” The network has yet to announce when those new episodes will finally air.

Nicole Curtis Pulled Her 9th Season of ‘Rehab Addict’ After 2 Episodes

After nearly two years away, longtime HGTV personality Nicole Curtis returned in July, generating lots of media buzz about the return of her show, “Rehab Addict.” Press materials said a limited, four-episode season would follow Curtis as she renovated dillapidated homes in Wyoming and Michigan.

The first two episodes aired, but then Curtis announced she had abruptly pulled the plug, telling her fans on social media that she had decided to postpone them until the fall.

On August 29, Curtis posted an update about the things she did over the summer and noted that October would mark her 15th year of filming “Rehab Addict.” Curtis said she was “back to work” but did not give any indication of when the second half of her brief season will air.

Will HGTV Renew ‘Down Home Fab’ for 4th Season?

Cole and Chelsea DeBoer were all over HGTV from April through July, competing on season six of “Rock the Block,” and then starring in their third season of “Down Home Fab.”

The show chronicles the DeBoers’ adventures as a busy family of five in South Dakota, as they renovate local homes and run their Sioux Falls retail store, Down Home by DeBoers. Given that it’s only been a few weeks since the third season wrapped, HGTV may not have decided yet on the show’s future.

On August 21, the day that HGTV announced a slew of new and returning series, Chelsea shared a photo in her Instagram Stories of a bottle of wine, flowers and a lit candle with a note from Cole. She wrote, “Haven’t been feeling 100 lately and came home to this 😭”

Cole’s sweet note said, “Hunny! Thank you for being so amazing. You are so strong and such an incredible person. We all look up to you babe. You are so loved by all of us. Forever! Love you.”

‘Home Town’ Spinoff Up in the Air After Devastating Fire

Among the new shows HGTV announced on August 21 was a spinoff of Ben and Erin Napier’s hugely popular “Home Town.” The six-episode series “Inn This Together,” set to debut in early 2026, would feature the Napiers and their friends in Laurel, Mississippi, as they renovated the 1930s Kress Building, transforming it into a 30-room hotel.

A few days later, a large fire broke out at the newly renovated Heirloom Hotel, and it took hours for firefighters from multiple fire departments to put out the blaze. In a heartbreaking update, Erin wrote that she wasn’t sure HGTV fans would ever see the planned show.

HGTV has not commented on the series’ future, but did say in a statement, ““We are grateful for first responders who were able to quickly contain this fire and that there were no reported injuries.”

Still No Word on Future of HGTV’s ‘Divided by Design’

Married Miami designers Eilyn and Ray Jimenez first rose to fame on Netflix’s “Designing Miami,” but jumped over to HGTV for their new show, “Divided by Design.”

The series premiered in September 2024 and aired six episodes before HGTV pulled the remainder of the season for reasons unknown, and then aired the second half of the season in early 2025. In April, the couple appeared as judges on “Rock the Block,” but those episodes were filmed months before.

Neither the network nor the couple have provided any definitive updates, but when fans have commented on Eilyn’s posts that they’re hoping for a second season, she often subtly likes their posts.

‘Luxe for Less’ Remains Up in the Air Despite Michel Smith Boyd’s ‘Rock the Block’ Win

HGTV’s “Luxe For Less” featured Michel Smith Boyd and his team Anthony Elle, Laura Green, and Kai Williamson.

After Michel Smith Boyd and Alison Victoria won season six of “Rock the Block” in May, fans renewed their calls for Smith’s show, “Luxe for Less,” to get a second season.

A petition was even started to bring the show back, noting that Boyd was the only designer to have won “Rock the Block” twice (he also won season four with teammate Anthony Elle) and deserved to be back on the air with his own show.

Despite fans’ best efforts and Boyd’s indications he’d love to return, HGTV has not commented on the show, and has not announced any plans to bring it back.
