HGTV star Taniya Nayak spilled all her holiday decor secrets, with tips for each room of the house on a budget.
Check out some of her favorite ways to deck the halls.
How to Make Spaces Feel Cozy
“When decorating for the holiday season, it’s important to start with the base of your home’s existing decor so that you don’t have to remodel the entire space,” Nayak told E! News ahead of the holiday rush.
The “Battle on the Beach” star explained that adding “thoughtful, elevated touches” helps create a cozy feel.
“Chunky knit throw blankets, seasonal accessories, and festive table linens,” are some of her favorite go-to items that help “create a cozy, holiday-inspired atmosphere tailored to your personal taste and design style.”
2025’s Trending Holiday Color Scheme
According to Nayak, “grounding color palettes and muted earth tones” are becoming increasingly popular in 2025.
“Playing with hues of rich brown, muddy green, and deep blue can keep the warmth and inviting feel of your home while still channeling the holiday season,” she told E! News. “I love to pair these color palettes with metallic accents like gold candle holders or decorative frames to bring the space together.”
Small Changes Go a Long Way
Nayak is a huge proponent of not overhauling your home for one season. Rather, she suggests, adding small accents to transition into the holidays.
“Making your home feel festive doesn’t always require an overhaul of your existing decor!” Nayak told the outlet. “I love to play around with small accents in my kitchen, like kitchen towels or seasonal glassware, to indulge in the holiday spirit without changing my home’s aesthetic.”
She went on to explain that linens such as tablecloths or cloth napkins “have the power to elevate your space with minimal effort.”
Garland and Wreaths Tie a Room Together
The “Destination Design” star encouraged fans to incorporate greenery into their holiday decor.
“Wreaths and garland throughout the ‘in-between’ spaces in your home is a simple but impactful way to tie varying rooms together!” she explained. “Draping seasonal garland along the staircase or hanging festive wreaths in your front windows brings a warm, holiday charm throughout the entire home.”
While Nayak has yet to show off her own holiday decor this year, if last year’s photos are any indication of what is to come, fans are bound to be inspired.
“I’m seeing a lot of holiday decorations go up. I’ve been riding the Christmas train all across the country for about a month now while filming [The Great Christmas Light Fight],” she captioned her photo dump of holiday decor in November 2024. “So I’m happy I was able to get my decor up on a quick visit back home. I managed to unpack, do laundry, put up the decorations, and repack all in a blink of an eye! I went for simple elegance this year because I’ve been getting OVER THE TOP displays that are next level while filming the show! Can’t wait for you to see these luminated masterpieces!”
Nayak will join Carter Oosterhouse to host season 13 of “The Great Christmas Light Fight,” which premieres on December 4 on Hulu.
