It’s not every day that the great Barbra Streisand sings her praises of fellow Hollywood stars, but when it comes to Ariana Grande, the “Meet the Fockers” actress is all about building up the “Thank U, Next” singer.
In a heartfelt Instagram post on Tuesday, Dec. 23, Streisand shared a photo of herself with Grande, along with a detailed caption in which she thanked the songstress for collaborating with her on her latest album, “The Secret of Life: Partners, Volume 2.” The new release dropped in June and featured several noteworthy stars, including Grande, Tim McGraw, Bob Dylan and more.
Streisand’s Instagram message detailed both her gratitude for Grande’s work on her album and her extreme approval of the multitalented star’s brilliance.
Barbra Streisand & Ariana Grande Celebrate Each Other’s Talent
“Ariana is a young woman with an amazing talent. She has a beautiful voice like no one else, and so much more,” Streisand wrote. “She can act, she can dance, she can be funny! She’s also sweet, kind and thoughtful. I’m very proud of you Ariana and thanks for singing with me on my album… Big hug, Barbra. P.S. you were wonderful on Saturday Night Live and looked so pretty @arianagrande!”
In pure Grande fashion, her response reflected her flustered excitement. “WHAT,” the “Wicked” actress penned, followed by a second comment in which she expressed how much Streisand’s shoutout meant to her.
“Barbra !!!!!!!! What !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh my goodness, thank you so much for this kindest surprise today! you made my day, my year, my life! this means so much, coming from you. i just love you so. i miss you and i hope i get to hug you soon… all my love and appreciation. thank you,” Grande wrote, alongside several teary-eyed emojis.
Grande’s feature on Streisand’s song “One Heart, One Voice” also included a few notes from the legendary Mariah Carey. The trio’s collaboration featured lyrics about the power of womanhood and the beauty of using that power to guide others to their true destiny.
Ariana Grande to Star in ‘Meet the Parents’ Spinoff
GettyWhile Grande and Streisand used their voices to create a chart-topper, they have yet to collaborate in a film, despite the “No Tears Left to Cry” hitmaker starring in the upcoming movie “Focker In-Law.” The “Meet the Parents” spinoff is slated for release on Thanksgiving in 2026; however, Streisand’s role as Roz Focker is unlikely to be reprised.
Earlier this year, Streisand expressed her reluctance to rejoin the franchise, telling Variety’s “Just for Variety” podcast that she had been underpaid for her role in the early 2000s.
“Oh my God. They’d have to pay me a lot of money because I didn’t get paid what the other people got paid, and so I’m pissed off,” she told podcast host Marc Malkin.
While Streisand hasn’t publicly signed on, co-star Ben Stiller voiced his hope that she might rejoin the cast for the upcoming film, telling E! News at the 2025 Emmys that the franchise is “in process” of negotiating terms with Streisand.
