Spears has previously been open about her mental health struggles, including bipolar disorder, as well as the emotional toll of her 13-year conservatorship, which ended in 2021. She has also sought treatment in the past, including in 2007 following her divorce and again in 2019.

In the years following the end of her conservatorship, Spears’ social media activity has often drawn concern from fans, prompting public discussion and responses from the singer herself.

Her next scheduled major legal milestone is a court appearance in Ventura County Superior Court on May 4, 2026.

Meanwhile, Spears remains involved in professional developments. “Wicked” director Jon M. Chu has previously confirmed she is still “very involved” in the upcoming Universal Pictures biopic based on her memoir, “The Woman in Me.”

Chu has emphasized a desire to “do her justice” by exploring how she survived, her hard-won freedom, and the societal pressures placed on young stars. He described the project as a way to “tell her story right” and honor her journey.

As Spears focuses on her health and support system, representatives and insiders emphasize that this decision is being viewed as a step toward stability and long-term wellbeing.
