Chris Brown’s home in Tarzana, California, was reportedly under gunfire on Friday, May 1, when a possible shooting erupted outside of his property, TMZ reported.
Sources say that a female alerted authorities around 4:00 PM after shots were allegedly directed at her vehicle, according to TMZ. The source described the suspect as a Black male, around 35 years old.
In the dispatch audio obtained by TMZ, officers could be heard as they rushed to Brown’s Tarzana address, as they described the suspect’s identifiable features and the time of the incident.
Suspect Arrested in Shooting Outside of Chris Brown’s Home
When authorities arrived at the R&B singer’s home, they spoke with “all parties involved,” according to TMZ, who noted that the male suspect told police that the woman refused to leave the area near Brown’s home, leading to an argument.
The suspect claimed the woman ran over his foot — leading to an immediate escalation of gunfire. The suspect was arrested at the scene for assault with a deadly weapon and vandalism, TMZ reported.
Authorities told the outlet that the shooting occurred on the street in front of Brown’s home before the outsider could make their way onto his property. It has not been made clear if Brown was home at the time of the shooting.
Chris Brown Under Fire for Upcoming Tour
Brown is currently prepping for his upcoming tour with Usher. The tour, dubbed “The R&B Tour,” kicks off on June 26 in Denver, Colorado, and will continue through December.
Brown and Usher, however, have faced scrutiny over their upcoming North American tour, which was announced on April 10, Billboard reported. Fans have voiced their concerns about Brown’s criminal history and Usher’s refusal to publicly cut ties with Sean “Diddy” Combs, despite criminal allegations against the Bad Boy Records founder, according to The Steve Harvey Morning Show.
Brown responded to critics who have urged others to boycott their tour by taking to his Instagram Story on April 26. The “No Guidance” hitmaker shared a pointed message to the “fake woke” critics, whom he suggested were never fans of his to begin with.
Within his message, Brown also noted that those who actually listen to his music, as well as Usher’s, will come out to support them.
“The funniest and the weirdest [expletive] ever to me is the fact that poeple have the option to come to my tour and the option not to,” he wrote.
“I know everyone who is a fan of me and USHER will definitely be in the building and it will be PACKED just like last year,” he continued. “But I’m scrolling through insta and tik tok and I come across rage bait pages and or these fake woke stand up for nothing pages bashing people for wanted to come have a good time.”
Brown continued, “The dudes hating, I can understand that( thinking we gon steal ya girl [expletive]. BUT THE KARENS, and the self hating hoes be making me LAUGH. I CANT WAIT TO RUB THIS [expletive] IN YALL FACE.”
