Beloved Singer Cancels Her Tour Amid Ongoing Health Struggles

Singer Jessie J has been open about the fact that she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She has documented multiple steps of her treatment on her Instagram account. At the same time, she is releasing new music and has a US and UK tour planned. Now, she has canceled one leg and postponed the other.

J posted the update on her Instagram account. She started by saying she had previously filmed what she had to say, but that it ended up being a five-minute video, so she elected to be more brief. She said, “As some of you know, I just had breast cancer surgery eight weeks ago.”

The singer continued, “The second thing is, unfortunately, I have to have a second surgery. Nothing too serious, but it has to be done before the end of the year, and unfortunately, that falls right in the middle of a tour I had booked.”

She went on, “So, I am postponing the tour until next year.” The singer was able to reschedule the UK dates, but hasn’t been able to do so for the US tour stops, which means that leg is canceled.”

J also said that she feels “frustrated and sad” but that she “needs to be better,” in regard to her health and upcoming surgery.

J Also Discussed New Music

Later in the video, J said, “What I will say is there’s new music coming. So much music. I’m literally getting messages about my album cover.” She continued, “I cannot wait for you to just have this music, but as I said, I’m trying to be in the moment. I’m trying to do my best, but I have to heal, so forgive me.”

The singer then announced that her new song, “Believe in Magic,” will be released on August 29. Notably, J has already released new music this year. She released “No Secrets” in April and “Living My Best Life” in May.

She spoke to Capital FM earlier this year about the new music. According to her, “Honestly, I just feel so grateful that I’m still able to do this. I’ve been doing this a long time, like [Do It Like A] Dude came out 15 years ago.”

J continued, “I’ve done a lot, this is my fifth album that’s going to be coming out later this year… that was an exclusive.” She added, “Yeah, Livin’ My Best Life has been in my phone for five years, and I’m just so happy it’s out there and people can listen to it in our four days of summer.”
