During the 2026 Grammys, Kelly Osbourne opened up in an interview with People on the red carpet about what life has been like since the death of her father, Ozzy Osbourne.
The pair were as thick as thieves before he passed away in July 2025, leaving Osbourne to share how shattered she’s felt without him.
How Kelly Osbourne Keeps Ozzy’s Memory Alive
GettyTo cope, Osbourne has a few special ways she keeps Ozzy’s memory alive. “There’s so many things that we do that we always keep a seat at the table for him,” she explained. “I light a candle every day. For him, I wear a locket. It’s under my dress; you can’t see it, but it has his picture in it, and my baby opens it every day and gives it a kiss and says hi to Papa.”
“And every time I see the clock at 11:11, I know that’s him talking to me,” she added.
‘Hardest Thing I’ve Ever Been Through’
GettyAlthough she shared that things have just been “okay” since her father’s death, Osbourne credited Ozzy’s fellow musician friends for also honoring him past his death. “You know, it’s just such a beautiful thing that his peers are showing their love and respect for his work tonight, and it’s going to be an emotional experience for us,” she said.
Despite the support from friends and fans, Osbourne admitted that things haven’t been so easy, adding how losing her dad was the worst experience of her life. “I won’t lie,” she said. “I won’t be one of those people that say I’m fine because I’m not. That’s the hardest thing I’ve ever been through in my life.”
Kelly Osbourne Expresses Gratitude for 2026 Grammys Tribute
Osbourne, who attended the 2026 Grammys with her fiancé, Sid Wilson, shared with People that her family has been the ultimate support system during the devastating loss. “But I have my man, and I have my gorgeous baby, and my mom and my brother and I so bonded,” she explained. “I didn’t think we could ever get more bonded, but we did.”
As she continued to talk about her dad, Osbourne shared how thankful she is for the Grammys to honor him during the show. Ozzy’s tribute at the 2026 Grammys was a collaborative performance by Slash and Duff McKagan of Guns N’ Roses, Post Malone, Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Ozzy’s producer and collaborator Andrew Watt, Associated Press reports.
“And my father was one of the greatest men to ever live [on] the planet,” she told People. “And to show I don’t have enough gratitude to the Grammys for what they’re doing tonight. You know, it’s a really beautiful thing.”
