“As we pass this year mark, it’s obvious that he’s here to stay,” a post on Kristofferson’s official Facebook page reads. There is a photo of him smiling while posing in front of a sunset and the ocean. His track, “Just The Other Side Of Nowhere (Album Version)” is also attached to the post.
It’s a joyful photo, and fans have reacted with an outpouring of love. “What a gift is his legacy of music, songs, and kind spirit to the world. I maintain his songs are the soundtrack of my life,” a comment reads. “I hope you are resting in peace, Kris Kristofferson, as a reward for your gifts to humanity.”

“It is with a heavy heart that we share the news our husband/father/grandfather, Kris Kristofferson, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 28, at home. We’re all so blessed for our time with him,” the statement from his family read. “Thank you for loving him all these many years, and when you see a rainbow, know he’s smiling down at us all.” At the time, fans flooded the post with messages of love.
Kristofferson had an incredible career and was greatly respected in the music industry, specifically in country music. His songs include “Highwayman,” Riders in the Sky,” “Bobby McGee,” and “Sunday Mornin’ Comin’ Down.” His film appearances include “Blaze,” “Blade,” and the iconic 1976 film “A Star Is Born” opposite Barbra Streisand.
