Rosalía was forced to leave the stage early during a concert in Milan after becoming visibly ill, prompting concern from fans.
The incident took place on Wednesday, March 25, as the global star performed a stop on her ongoing “Lux Tour.”
In fan-captured video shared online, Rosalía addressed the crowd candidly, explaining that she had been battling a serious illness even before stepping on stage.
Rosalía Tried to Keep Going
“I tried to do this show since the very beginning. I’ve been sick,” she said. “I’ve had come up big time food poisoning and I’ve tried to push it ‘til the end, but I’m feeling extremely sick. I’m puking out there. I really want to give the best show, and I’m, like, on the floor, doing my best.”
Despite her condition, the singer attempted to continue performing, telling the audience she would try to push through as long as possible.
“I’m really trying. I’m going to push as much as I can, but, if we have to stop, we might have to stop if really physically I can’t keep going. I’m in pain,” she said, at one point clutching her stomach while the crowd cheered her on.
Ultimately, the hitmaker was unable to finish the show. The video shows Rosalía blowing a kiss to fans and waving before exiting the stage, signaling the end of the performance.
Rosalía Gave Fans an Update
The following day, March 26, Rosalía offered an update on her condition via Instagram Stories. She posted a photo of herself on a stretcher with an IV in her arm, giving a thumbs-up to reassure fans.
“Feeling better,” she captioned the image. “Thank you so much for all the love and understanding from everyone who was there.”
It remains unclear whether the Milan concert will be rescheduled.
However, Rosalía’s tour schedule continues to move forward, with several upcoming performances planned in Madrid beginning March 30.
From there, the European leg of the “Lux Tour” is expected to continue before the singer heads to the United States and Latin America later this year.
She is currently slated to kick off that portion of the tour with shows in Miami on June 4 and June 6.
While fans were understandably disappointed by the shortened performance, many have taken to social media to praise Rosalía for her dedication and honesty.
“Oh no. She’s so sweet for explaining what’s going on herself. Hope she makes a speedy recovery,” one fan wrote.
