A-Lister’s Ex Safe After Scary Rally Incident

Sam Asghari, the actor and model best known as the ex-husband of pop star Britney Spears, is safe after attending a pro-freedom rally in Los Angeles.

He shared a video to his social media, showing that he was at the large rally in Los Angeles supporting protestors pushing for change in Iran.

The Iranian-born entertainer was seen among demonstrators waving flags and standing with a crowd that gathered to show solidarity with those protesting in his birth country.

Asghari Shared a Post to Social Media

The demonstration, held Sunday, January 11,  in Westwood — home to one of the largest Iranian-American communities in the country — drew thousands who expressed support for people in Iran amid ongoing unrest and crackdowns.

Videos circulating on social media showed Asghari holding the Iranian flag and engaging with others in the crowd, demonstrating his connection to and pride in his heritage.

The turnout came during a tense moment: a U-Haul truck reportedly drove into the march, striking at least one protester and injuring two others before the driver was detained by police, according to Newsweek.

No serious injuries were reported, and authorities are investigating the matter.

Asghari’s presence at the rally marked a departure from typical celebrity appearances, as the “Traitors” star — who has previously spoken out about Iran — stood alongside community members to spotlight an issue of deep personal meaning.

Over the years, he has used his platform to condemn human rights abuses in Iran, including past crackdowns on demonstrators and restrictions on freedoms.

His Relationship with Britney Spears

Sam Asghari became a household name largely through his high-profile relationship and subsequent marriage to Britney Spears.

The couple first met in 2016 on the set of her “Slumber Party” music video and quickly became one of pop culture’s most talked-about pairs. They married in June 2022 after years of dating, blending their personal and professional worlds.

Their union lasted roughly 14 months before Asghari filed for divorce in August 2023, citing irreconcilable differences.

Their split was finalized in May 2024, and both have since moved forward with their lives.

Despite the end of their marriage, Asghari has continued to speak respectfully about Spears. He once called their time together “a blessing” and has expressed admiration for her as an artist and as a person.

During interviews, he also discussed some of the challenges they faced, including navigating aspects of Spears’ personal life and career pressures.

Asghari described certain experiences — such as understanding her conservatorship — as eye-opening and unusual, showing a reflective side to their past relationship.

Though no longer a couple, both remain figures of public interest — Spears as a music icon and cultural presence, and Asghari carving his own path in entertainment and activism.

His recent participation in the Los Angeles rally showcased a side of him rooted in identity and heritage beyond Hollywood, drawing attention not for celebrity status but for personal conviction.

As global events continue to unfold, Asghari’s voice at the Los Angeles gathering highlighted how former relationships with famous partners can intersect with individuals’ evolving public lives — and how personal backgrounds remain central to how celebrities choose to engage with the world around them.
