Tori Amos is currently in the middle of a 35-date world tour, performing shows in the UK and Europe with concerts coming to North America in July. At the same time, she’s been updating her fans when it comes to her life on the road.
That includes the fact that the music industry star just revealed an injury she suffered during an unexpected and unfortunate occurrence. While traveling through Sweden, the singer’s tour bus almost hit an enormous animal.
Tori (and the Moose) Will Be Okay
“Moose On The Loose,” Amos titled the post she shared on Instagram on Monday, May 20. In the caption, she told the story of the animal-related incident, saying, “Last night on our drive from Copenhagen to Stockholm we unexpectedly came across a 6ft,1500 lbs Moose wandering across the road…”
Although the encounter could have resulted in a serious crash, Amos explained, “Chris our amazing driver managed to take avoiding action from what could have been a horrible accident.”
While the fact that no one was severely harmed — including the moose — Amos did admit, “Unfortunately yours truly happened to have just stood up to head to my bunk when the Moose appeared…. and I was thrown against the ledge in the bus lounge resulting in me slamming the side of my face. (yes that’s gonna leave a mark)”
She ended her message by adding, “So for the next week or so if it looks like I have gone a few rounds with [wrestler and MMA fighter] Ronda Rousey, now you will know why… shows will go on as normal… hugs t.”
Amos’ fans left plenty of comments while reacting to the post, with one person writing, “So glad you’re ok! Love you and hope you heal quickly 😘😘😘”
“If you have to have a bruise on your face, at least it comes with an interesting story! I hope it doesn’t hurt too much. ❤️,” another person said.
A third fan wrote, “I’m so sorry you were injured, sweet T, but thankful you are okay. Wishing a speedy recovery and sending lots of love and healing vibes! ♥️♥️♥️♥️”
Tori Previously Broke Her Leg on Tour
Unfortunately for Amos, this isn’t the first injury she’s suffered while on tour. In an Instagram post that she shared back in June 2023, the singer popped up a pair of photos. The first shot gave her followers a look at her leg with a bag of ice on it, while the second image showed her sitting at a piano and wearing a protective boot.
“Hi Team,” Amos began the message in her post’s caption. “So I have been a bit of a ding bell and tripped on my ever so fashionable high heel tassels that unraveled in Charlotte.”
“I went to the good sports Doctors of New York yesterday and they have informed me that I have a broken fibula and a torn ankle tendon,” she explained. “I now have a lovely boot which I am wearing during the day, but no fear I will be at the piano as usual for the rest of the tour. I may just be moving a little slower to and from the Bose and will probably need those silver foxes to lend a hand… Can’t wait to see you all tonight and the rest of the tour. hugs t.”
