Josh Duhamel, 53, announced the arrival of his first daughter on May 16 by sharing some sweet shots of the little cutie on Instagram, and his ex-wife Fergie, 51, reacted with a short and sweet comment. The “Glamorous” singer left two red bow emojis along with two pink hearts.
A few days after welcoming the little girl, Duhamel posted a video thanking the hospital staff for their help. Duhamel shares his new daughter with his current wife, 32-year-old former pageant queen Audra Mari, and the couple revealed they named the baby Rocca de Leon.
A few days after the birth, Duhamel hinted in a video that the birth wasn’t exactly smooth sailing as he touched on the dramatic way things unfolded.
The “Safe Haven” star wrote a caption acknowledging Sanford hospital “for all the love you gave our family,” before adding, “Dr. Kappenman, special shout out to you for coming to our rescue in the middle of the night. You’re the best.”
He elaborated on the hospital experience by telling the camera, “I just wanna say thank you to Sanford, all of our incredible nurses, pediatricians, everybody involved. Thank you for making this – you know, otherwise complicated situation incredibly easy.”
He continued, “Love you guys. Love all the nurses that have helped us bring little baby Rocca into the world.” The actor gave a friendly point to the camera before singing off with, “Love you. Bye.”
He did not elaborate on the exact nature of the “complicated situation” or what led to the need for a midnight rescue.
However, in the announcement photos, the baby appears safe and well. A previous Page Six report that prematurely announced the baby’s arrival two weeks before it actually happened suggests the couple might have possibly been spotted at the hospital around that time, and perhaps someone jumped the gun in tipping off the media.

Mari announced her pregnancy back in March with a beautiful set of black-and-white bump photos, and Fergie kindly reacted by commenting, “Welcome the cuteness! 💖💖”
Fergie and Duhamel share one child, a son named Axl. Duhamel welcomed his second son, Shepherd, with Mari in 2024 after marrying her in 2022.

In a 2026 The Bossticks podcast appearance, Duhamel discussed the pop star, whom he married in 2009 before splitting a decade later.
The star kept things positive towards his ex, saying, “Fergie is also very wholesome, believe it or not. Especially since she sort of stepped away from it all. She’s a great mom. Very kind, very nonconfrontational, thank God. We have a good relationship. She and Audra have a great relationship.”

In the same podcast interview, Duhamel hinted at the reason for his and Fergie divorce. He explained, “We’re just very different. Fergie and I, we just have different views of the world. And that’s okay, you know. But I have no regrets about that. We have a beautiful son. But they’re just very different in a lot of ways. But also, both really great women. They really are.”
Likewise, Fergie previously expressed remaining fondness for Duhamel. She told Wendy Williams in 2017, “I love Josh. He’s the father of my child.” She also acknowledged some sadness over their split, revealing, “It wasn’t my plan. I wanted to stay married forever.”
