Sarah Hyland and Wells Adams are celebrating four years of marriage and nearly a decade of their love story.
The “Modern Family” alum and “Bachelor Nation” star marked their fourth wedding anniversary on Aug. 20 with sweet Instagram tributes to each other, sharing photos that looked back at their relationship.
Hyland, 35, posted a carousel of photos showing the couple dancing, laughing and sharing a kiss. In her caption, she joked that Adams was her “favorite wedding guest” before reflecting on what she loves most about their life together.
“You’re the person who makes me laugh harder, smile bigger, and find joy in the mundane,” Hyland wrote on Instagram. “Life with you is my favorite kind of fun.”
She continued, “You fill our home, our marriage, and my life with so much love, happiness, and tacos.”
Hyland also called Adams her best friend and said she would “choose” him “in every lifetime” before signing off with a phrase that has become familiar between the couple: “I love you +1 anything you say.”
Wells Adams Shared Photos From the Beginning of Their Relationship
Adams, 42, celebrated the milestone with a throwback of his own.
The former “Bachelorette” contestant shared what he described as the first photos he and Hyland ever took together, giving followers a glimpse at the early days of their romance.
“Happy anniversary to my perfect wife,” Adams wrote on Instagram. “You can tell how absolutely and completely in love I am with you in these. And guess what? Nothing’s changed.”
Adams ended his message with another version of the couple’s signature exchange, writing, “I love you more, plus one anything you say, to Pluto and back.”
Their relationship dates back to 2017 after the two first connected through social media. Per People, some flirty tweets eventually led to Adams sliding into Hyland’s DMs and asking her out for tacos.
Us Weekly reported that the couple moved in together in Los Angeles in summer 2018. That September, Hyland told the outlet she believed Adams was “The One.”
One year later, Adams proposed during a beachfront getaway in July 2019.

Hyland and Adams initially planned to get married in August 2020, but their wedding was postponed amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
After the delay, the pair finally tied the knot on Aug. 20, 2022, at Sunstone Winery near Santa Barbara, California, according to People.
The celebration included several of Hyland’s former “Modern Family” co-stars, including Sofia Vergara, Julie Bowen, Nolan Gould and Jesse Tyler Ferguson.
Adams later told Us Weekly that he became emotional watching Hyland walk down the aisle and again while reading their vows.
The couple has continued to publicly celebrate their milestones in the years since. In July, Adams marked the seventh anniversary of their engagement with another Instagram tribute, calling his decision to propose the “best decision” he had ever made.
Now, four years into their marriage, Hyland summed up where she stands with a simple promise to her husband: “You’re my best friend and I’d choose you in every lifetime.”
