Bachelor Nation is having a difficult time learning that beloved couple Spencer Conley and Jess Edwards, who got engaged on the “Bachelor in Paradise” season 10 finale, have called off their engagement.
As fans remember, Conley and Edwards were immediately attracted to one another during their time in Costa Rica and stayed committed to each other until the very end, with Conley proposing to Edwards during the September 2025 finale.
Since the show, they have shared countless posts together and even purchase a home together in Texas at the end of 2025. The news of their split is shocking with the former couple sharing a joint statement with their fans on Instagram.
Jess Edwards & Spencer Conley Call Off Engagement
Beloved “Bachelor in Paradise” season 10 couple Jess Edwards and Spencer Conley have called off their engagement a year after getting engaged in Costa Rica.
The former couple announced their split in a joint statement on Instagram Stories on Tuesday, September 8, writing, “After a lot of honest conversations and reflections, we’ve made the difficult decision to end our engagement and go our separate ways.”
“There wasn’t one moment that brought us here. The past year and a half gave us so many memories and experiences that we’ll always cherish, and while this isn’t the ending we imagined, we’ll always have so much love and respect for each other and for what we shared.”
The message continued, “We’re moving forward with grateful hearts, genuinely wanting nothing but happiness for one another. Thank you to everyone who believed in us and rooted for our love. Your continued kindness means more than you know as we navigate what comes next.”
Edwards Set Her Sights on Conley Before Going Into ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ Season 10
Edwards and Conley met on “Bachelor in Paradise” season 10, where former “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette” contestants met on a beach in Costa Rica, moving from its traditional Mexican beach. While contestants were forming new connections, Edwards came onto the show already setting her sights on Conley.
“I did have my sights set on him coming into this,” she said on the show. “He’s definitely at the tippy-top of my list.”
She added, “He was on my radar already, so seeing him there, I was just so excited. He was my number one, I was going to immediately talk to him on day one, so I thought, ‘How do I shoot my shot right now? I’m gonna go see if he’ll give me a tour!”
In fact, Edwards shared with Parade that she even DMed him when she saw him on Jenn Tran’s season of “The Bachelorette.”
“I followed him on Instagram while Jenn’s season was airing because I thought he was cute,” Edwards said. “I will say, I definitely slid into the DMs once or twice, like, ‘Cute dog,’ or, ‘Oh my gosh, I need to make that recipe!’”
Edwards and Conley were the only couple to get engaged on season 10 and had been going strong ever since, sharing their lives together on social media. In late 2025, they moved to Texas together, where Conley is from.
Conley & Edwards Opened up About Marriage
While appearing on the “Bachelor Happy Hour: Golden Hour” podcast in February, Conley and Edwards were asked how wedding planning was going.
“We haven’t started any planning yet,” Edwards revealed. “At first we were like, ‘Okay, when it’s been a year we can revisit and start planning then.’ But our biggest thing is we just want to take time and live life normally. I think that a lot of people forget we had to be hidden and also live separately for a couple months.”
She added, “So we lost out on a lot of time in hiding and then also waiting to actually move in together… So we were like May’s coming up quick and it’s gonna be a year. How are we feeling about planning?”
Conely responded, “It’s still so fresh that we’re here, so when May comes around it could very well be, ‘Oh, my gosh, okay, yeah, let’s start planning,’ but we’re not [rushing].”
