Ashley Graham is giving fans a rare glimpse into her life as a mom of three, but she is still drawing a clear line when it comes to her children’s privacy.
The 38-year-old model appears on the cover of Marie Claire’s Motherhood issue alongside her three sons, marking the first time all of them have been included in a magazine shoot together. The photos feature her oldest son Isaac, 6, and twins Roman and Malachi, 4, in subtle, low-key moments that avoid putting them fully in the spotlight.
In one image, Graham holds Isaac as he turns his head away from the camera. In another, her twins are captured in motion rather than posed. The intentional styling reflects how carefully she approaches sharing her children publicly.
“There’s just some things to me that are so sacred,” Graham said. “We live in such an oversharing world… I feel like I’ve shared a lot of my life with so many people, and there’s three little things that I don’t want to share.”
Why Privacy Still Comes First
Even as she opens up more about motherhood, Graham made it clear that her kids are not part of her public brand.
According to Marie Claire, she wants to give them a normal childhood, even as they grow up around her career. “Right now, I want my kids to just be kids. I want them to play and have fun,” she said.
That includes resisting the urge to put them in front of the camera, even as her oldest son already shows signs of wanting to perform. Graham shared that Isaac enjoys singing and entertaining at home, often putting on mini shows for the family. Still, she is not rushing him into anything.
Her parenting approach is also shaped by her own upbringing. Graham said she did not grow up in a household that prioritized open communication, which is something she is now focused on changing.
“My mom and dad were not communicators with each other or with us… their answer was ‘just because we said so,’” she said.
Instead, she and her husband Justin Ervin are creating what she described as an “open door policy,” encouraging their kids to ask questions and speak freely. “You can ask us anything, talk about anything,” she said, adding that building trust and respect is her long-term goal as a parent.
Navigating Motherhood and a New Sense of Self

Alongside raising three young boys, Graham is also being honest about the personal changes that come with motherhood.
In the same cover story, she opened up about her postpartum journey, admitting that adjusting to her body has not been easy. “I’m living in a different body and it’s been hard to get to know her,” she said. “I can’t say that I can look in the mirror and be like, ‘I love you.’”
Instead of focusing on perfection, Graham said her mindset has shifted toward acceptance. “It’s that, ‘Wow, I made some children,’” she explained, noting that she has had to let go of how she looked in her earlier years. “She’s gone. Let’s focus on the new girl.”
She also acknowledged the changing landscape of body image conversations, saying it can feel discouraging to see trends shifting away from body positivity. Still, she remains grounded in her perspective. “There’s gonna still be women who are considered plus size forever,” she said.
Through it all, Graham continues to balance her public life with her role as a mother, choosing to share moments that feel meaningful while protecting what matters most.
“There’s three little things that I don’t want to share.”
