Kristin Cavallari Shares Why She Still Lets Her Kids Sleep in Her Bed

Kristin Cavallari is keeping it real about motherhood. The “Very Cavallari” alum revealed on her “Let’s Be Honest” podcast that two of her children, son Jaxon, 11, and daughter Saylor, 9, still sleep in her bed once a week.

Kristin Cavallari Opens Up About Co-Sleeping With Her Kids

The former “Laguna Beach” star admitted that while her kids used to climb into her bed far more frequently, she’s had to scale it back now that the school year has begun. “They were in my bed every other night … for awhile,” Cavallari explained. “But I can’t do that during the school year.”

Still, Cavallari admitted she enjoys the closeness, even if she’s relishing her own downtime. “Yes, I have every other weekend, but I also need a minute to myself!” she shared.

The 37-year-old, who shares three children with ex-husband Jay Cutler, admitted mornings are tricky when her kids are in her room. “I have to be so quiet in my bathroom, like, brushing my teeth, washing my face and getting dressed,” Cavallari told listeners. “I want to be able to have the freedom to move about my room and get dressed in the morning without worrying about waking someone up.”

Fans praised the Uncommon James founder for normalizing co-sleeping. One Reddit user commented, “This isn’t strange. Let them stay little. Childhood goes by so quickly and adulthood sucks.”

The MTV Alum Reflects on Parenting, Co-Parenting, and Postpartum Struggles

Cavallari went on to share more about her motherhood journey, recalling that Jaxon has been sneaking into her bed since he was one.

“He slept with me every single night for four years,” she said with a laugh, noting that her son eventually transitioned to sharing a room with his older brother, Camden, 13. “He’s always had FOMO,” Cavallari joked.

She also revisited her “brutal” birth and postpartum experiences, candidly describing the physical toll. “I felt like I was ripping in half,” Cavallari admitted, adding that she eventually hired a night nurse to help during those early months.

The jewelry designer has been co-parenting Camden, Jaxon, and Saylor with her ex-husband since their 2020 split. Earlier this year, Cavallari revealed that she now has custody of the kids except for every other weekend.

Cutler, meanwhile, recently made headlines for accepting a plea deal after his DUI arrest in October 2023. Page Six confirmed the retired NFL quarterback will serve four days in jail, along with probation and random drug testing.

Cavallari and Cutler started dating in 2010 and married in 2013. They announced their split in 2020 and finalized their divorce in 2022 after citing “irreconcilable differences.”
