“The Queens of Comedy” star and all-around entertainment industry legend Mo’Nique (whose real name is Monique Angela Hicks) shared some good news with fans on Sunday, August 24. The actress posted a throwback photo on Instagram, showing herself at around 300 pounds, as she posed alongside her husband, Sidney Hicks.
Mo’Nique Reflects on Weight Loss
In her caption, she reflected on how losing weight has transformed her appearance but also impacted her health for the better. “HEY MY SWEET BABIES,” she wrote. “MO’NIQUES MOVEMENT IN THIS PICTURE I WAS OVER 300 ILBS WITH HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE ALMOST 20 YEARS LATER IM NOW CLOSER TO 200 ILBS AND NO LONGER HAVE HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE.”
Mo’Nique also discussed how she wanted to be healthier to have more time with her husband, whom she married in 2006. “AS WE STAND TOGETHER 20 YEARS LATER WE WOULD LOVE TO HAVE AT LEAST 40 MORE TOGETHER AND TO DO THAT WE MUST CONTINUE TO PUT THE WORK IN IF YOU HAVE SOMEONE IN YOUR LIFE WORTH FIGHTING FOR THEN FIGHT FOR THEM AS THEY FIGHT FOR YOU IN THE MOST LOVING, GENTLE, KIND WAY I LOVE US 4REAL!” she shared.
Fans Show Love for Mo’Nique & Her Husband
Mo’Nique’s more recent photos and appearances are after she lost 100 pounds. However, fans were quick to praise her for always being beautiful. “At every shape/size u are so beautiful,” a comment reads. “Always been that girl! Look at the face!!! Gorgeous!” Another fan shared.
