BREAKING: Man Detained in Nancy Guthrie Probe Released, Speaks Out

The person detained for questioning in connection with Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance has been released.

ABC15 Arizona reporter Lillian Donahue told CNN that her colleagues spoke to the man, who denied any involvement with the case.

The man, who identified himself as Carlos, said “he didn’t even know who this woman (Nancy Guthrie) was, that he works as a delivery driver.” Donahue also noted that she saw the man drive his car back into the Rio Rico neighborhood, where his home had been searched Tuesday night.

In a video shared by ABC15 Arizona reporter Ford Hatchett, the man said his wife was driving at the time when they got pulled over by the police.

“They told me I was being detained for kidnapping. I asked them, ‘kidnapping of who?'” the man said. “I told them … I might have delivered a package to their house but I never kidnapped anybody.”

Detained Subject Has Been Released

On Tuesday, deputies detained an individual during a traffic stop, about an hour’s drive south of Tucson.

The traffic stop came hours after the FBI released surveillance images of an armed masked man outside of Nancy’s residence on the night of her disappearance.

Initial reports indicated that the man was en route to the U.S.-Mexico border when he was stopped by Pima County sheriff’s deputies with assistance from the FBI, per The New York Post.

Law enforcement was seen leaving the Rio Rico, Arizona, early Wednesday following a “court-authorized search” in connection with the search for Savannah Guthrie’s mother.

“Investigators have completed their search of a property in Rio Rico,” the Pima County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement, noting that the investigation is still “ongoing.”

The Search Continues

Meanwhile, Savannah Guthrie broke her silence following the release of footage from Nancy’s doorbell camera. The “Today” host shared the clip to her Instagram account, pleading for help identifying the masked man captured on video.

“We believe she is still alive. Bring her home,” she wrote along with the contact information of authorities.

On Tuesday, the FBI released the photos and videos of the suspected abductor.

“Law enforcement has uncovered these previously inaccessible new images showing an armed individual appearing to have tampered with the camera at Nancy Guthrie’s front door the morning of her disappearance,” FBI Director Kash Patel said.

The clip showed a man wearing a mask tampering with Nancy’s doorbell camera. At one point, the subject grabbed a handful of plants and tried to cover the camera with it.

  1. I know that we’re all praying for her safe return, but stop putting your every move in the media, y’all only putting her life in danger more than it’s already is, it seems like whoever is behind this is not mentally stable and they’re jerking y’all along.. I believe it’s someone related to her that’s involved with the manner that they’re asking for the money says that they’re young and tech savvy….think about it…I say check out her grandkids and they’re friends, that’s the direction I would be looking at…..🤔
