Riley Green Leaves Fan Speechless After Showing Up to Buy His Guitar On Facebook Marketplace

Country music superstar Riley Green may be getting ready to take a seat in one of the famous red chairs on “The Voice,” but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have time to hunt for a good deal on Facebook Marketplace. The 37-year-old “You Look Like You Love Me” singer recently found a guitar for sale on the social media platform, so he decided to buy it. Instead of sending someone else to handle the transaction, Green showed up himself and left the unsuspecting seller speechless.

Riley Green Surprised Fan

Shane Allen is the owner of Front Beach Softwash in Panama City Beach, Florida. He also happens to be the man who shared the unexpected encounter with Green on his Facebook page.

Allen had listed his Gibson J-45 acoustic guitar on Facebook Marketplace, even though he did admit that he wasn’t completely ready to part ways with the instrument.

In the post, Allen wrote, “Didn’t really wanna sell this girl, but thought I would throw it on Marketplace.”

He ended up getting someone interested in buying it. They agreed to meet at a specific location, but Allen had no idea who would be waiting for him there.

When he arrived at the agreed-upon location, Allen discovered Green was the person who wanted to buy his guitar. With Green being the buyer, it made Allen feel a little better about giving it up.

Allen wrote, “This guy didn’t have to meet up with this regular Joe. Heck, he could have sent anybody to buy my guitar!”

Nope, that’s not how it went down, though. Green personally invited Allen to meet and let him check out the instrument.

Will He See His Old Instrument On Stage?

The Gibson J-45 has a long history in country music, which makes Green a fitting new owner. Allen admitted that seeing Green buy his guitar did help take some of the sting out of selling it.

Allen wrote, “When I [saw] that he was the one buying it, well it made selling it feel a little better.”

Now that Green is the owner of this guitar, Allen is hoping that he might eventually recognize his former guitar in Green’s hands.

Allen added, “I hope to see him throwing them pick marks on her soon.” He thanked the country singer and said another J-45 would be in his own future.

Hitting the Road in 2026

Green could be putting his new guitar to plenty of use, especially since his schedule is so busy.

The country singer is spending much of 2026 on the road with his “Cowboy as It Gets” Tour, which is his biggest headlining tour to date.

The tour will continue into the fall, with stops in Denver, Los Angeles, and Austin.

He also has new music on the way. Green’s fourth studio album, “That’s Just Me,” is scheduled to arrive on September 18. This album features the song “Imagine That,” which he released in July.

Riley Green Joins ‘The Voice’

As if a new album and tour aren’t enough, Green decided to add another thing to his schedule.

The country star will make his debut as a coach on Season 30 of “The Voice” on NBC. “The Voice” premiere takes place on September 21, 2026. He will also be serving as a coach on Season 31 of “The Voice,” which will debut in Spring 2027 and be a celebrity edition.

Being a coach on “The Voice” will help introduce Green to a bigger audience, but also give aspiring singers a chance to learn from the country star.

Despite all of that going on, Green’s surprise Facebook Marketplace meetup shows he can apparently still find time to personally pick a new guitar.
