Two armored SWAT vehicles were seen departing the Pima County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday, February 10, as the search for Nancy Guthrie continues.
In video shared by Fox True Crime, Pima Regional Tactical Rescue vehicles were seen exiting the parking lot at the Pima County Sheriff Department.
“It is unclear if the movement is related to [the] investigation surrounding Nancy Guthrie,” the outlet tweeted. “Fox News observed deputies loading shields and other tactical gear before leaving.”
Reporter Brian Entin, who has been on the scene in Tucson since Guthrie was first reported missing, later revealed, “The FBI’s elite hostage rescue team is in Tucson, sources tell me.”
Police Activity Reported in Annie Guthrie’s Neighborhood
Police activity intensified on Tuesday near the home of Annie Guthrie and husband Tommaso Cioni, Daily Mail reported. The outlet reported that search and rescue teams examined nearby homes, businesses, and a riverbed in the area.
“Law enforcement is going door to door around the neighborhood of Nancy Guthrie’s other daughter, Annie’s home. There is at least one official here with the Pima County Sheriff’s department and another person with the FBI,” reporter Jacob Owens shared via X from the scene.
Nancy Guthrie’s Alleged Kidnapper Is From Tucson Area
GettyAccording to law enforcement sources, Nancy Guthrie’s abductors are believed to be from the Tucson, Arizona, area, TMZ reported on Tuesday, February 10.
“The operating theory is that the ransom notes were written by the kidnapper, and those notes provide clues on where the abductor lives,” the outlet reported.
The news comes one day after the deadline on the alleged ransom letter received by TMZ and various local news outlets expired.
TMZ previously reported that the kidnappers promised to return Nancy within 12 hours of receiving their $6 million bitcoin demand, which they determined would confirm a 700-mile search radius.
As of Tuesday evening, the outlet confirmed there has been “activity for the first time in the Bitcoin account listed in the first ransom note.” They did not reveal the amount that was apparently transferred.
Savannah Guthrie pleaded with her mother’s captors to return the 84-year-old to her family, in an emotional video shared via Instagram.
“We received your message, and we understand,” Savannah said in her Sunday video. “We beg you now to return our mother to us so that we can celebrate with her. This is the only way we will have peace. This is very valuable to us, and we will pay.”

“The images released today are a critical update in our search for the individual or individuals who may be responsible for Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance,” Christopher Raia, the Deputy Director of the FBI, tweeted on Tuesday. “If you have any information that could be beneficial to the case, we need to know.”
