Rudy Giuliani Seriously Injured After Rescuing Victim

Former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani was seriously injured in a car accident on Saturday, Aug. 30.

The accident occurred after he had helped save a woman who was a victim of a domestic violence incident.

According to the New York Post, Giuliani was a passenger in a “Ford Bronco being driven by Theodore Goodman,” while 19-year-old Lauren Kemp was in the car that struck them. All three were “taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.”

The outlet also spoke with Giuliani’s son Andrew along with his business partner, Maria Ryan.

ā€œThank Goodness he’s doing OK,” Andrew said. ā€œFractured vertebrae. More to come … Please keep him in your prayers.”

As for Ryan, The New York Post specifies that she is a nurse practitioner who is helping to oversee his care.

ā€œHe’s getting further tests and stabilization of his injuries,ā€ she told the outlet.

Rudy Giuliani’s Head of Security Reveals Details About the Car Accident

The news of the car accident was confirmed by Giuliani’s head of security, Michael Ragusa, on Instagram.

“On the evening of August 30, 2025, in New Hampshire, Mayor Giuliani was involved in a motor vehicle accident. Prior to the incident, he was flagged down by a woman who was the victim of a domestic violence incident. Mayor Giuliani immediately rendered assistance and contacted 911. He remained on scene until responding officers arrived to ensure her safety,” the statement began.

“Following this, while traveling on the highway, Mayor Giuliani’s vehicle was struck from behind at high speed. He was transported to a nearby trauma center, where he was diagnosed with a fractured thoracic vertebrae, multiple lacerations and contusions, as well as injuries to his left arm and lower leg,” Ragusa wrote.

“His business partner and medical provider were promptly contacted and arrived at the hospital to oversee his care,” he continued. “At this time, no further updates are available.”

“This is the only statement by Mayor Giuliani,” Ragusa concluded.
