Earlier this month, Hayek reflected on aging in an interview with Marie Claire. “There was a time when I was the sexy girl, but thank God age came and gave me the ability to expand to other territories,” she said.

When asked in 2023 if her “best professional moments,” as she called them, would happen in her 50s, Hayek responded with a laugh: “Oh my God, do I have to wait that long?” she told Glamour. The good news, she says, is that all the anticipation was worth it.

According to Hayek, the journey to this stage of life has been far from difficult. In fact, she described the experience of aging as “beautiful.”

“I thought getting older meant I wasn’t going to work; I’m working,” Hayek said.

She added, “I thought getting older maybe meant that you’re not in love anymore; I’m in love,” she continued. “I don’t feel that I lost my flexibility or my agility or even my strength. I do have to say that I have found it beautiful, getting older with someone.”
