The third and final season of the Prime Video original series “The Summer I Turned Pretty” may have just concluded, but that doesn’t mean the story’s over!
It appears original book trilogy author and show creator Jenny Han is not quite done exploring Isabel Conklin and the Fisher boys’ journey.
Amazon Prime Video has officially greenlit a feature film to close out the screen adaptations of the beloved YA romance franchise.
The official reveal was made via a press release from Prime Video. The announcement went out on Wednesday, September 17, during the series finale’s celebration on the Paris red carpet, where the main cast was in attendance.
GettyLater, the show’s social media accounts set fans abuzz by posting a vague image of show lead actors Lola Tung and Christopher Briney posing in front of a backdrop that read, “The Summer I Turned Pretty: The Movie.”
What We Know So Far
The movie will be written and directed by Han.
Han told Amazon MGM Studios that “there is another big milestone left in Belly’s journey, and I thought only a movie could give it its proper due. I’m so grateful to Prime Video for continuing to support my vision for this story and for making it possible to share this final chapter with the fans.”
The cast of the film will include Lola Tung and Christopher Briney reprising their starring roles as Isabel “Belly” Conklin and Conrad Fisher. The rest of the cast is not yet confirmed to be returning.
Show finale spoilers ahead!
The eleventh and final episode of the season, titled “At Last,” left the audience with Conrad and Belly giving their romance a second chance after Conrad flies to Paris to see Belly after some time apart.
The plot of the movie is yet to be announced, but fans expect to see more of Conrad and Belly’s relationship in the feature film after waiting for them to get back together all season long.
