Super Bowl LX Halftime Show Headliner Announced

In a surprise announcement on September 28, 2025 — during halftime of the Dallas Cowboys and the Green Bay Packers — NBC announced that Bad Bunny will perform the Super Bowl Halftime Show on February 8, 2026, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

In a cryptic social media post earlier in the day, Apple Music revealed it would be announcing the big news. During the evening NFL matchup, Apple Music, the NFL and Bad Bunny (whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio) announced the news via social media, sharing a 30-second teaser featuring Bad Bunny’s song with Tainy, “Callaíta.”

Bad Bunny Follows Up Kendrick Lamar’s 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show

There had been many rumors that Taylor Swift would be the 2026 Halftime Show performer, following up Kendrick Lamar’s much-buzzed-about 2025 performance. The honor is reserved for the biggest names in music. Past performers have included Beyoncé, Rihanna, The Weeknd, Lady Gaga, Madonna, Bruce Springsteen, and Prince.

Teasing the major event, Bad Bunny tweeted, “I’ve been thinking about it these days, and after discussing it with my team, I think I’ll do just one date in the United States”

According to People, the Puerto Rico native previously decided not to include the U.S. on his Debí Tirar Más Fotos World Tour, “due to President Donald Trump’s use of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) for immigration crackdown.”

In a September 10 interview with i-D Magazine, the rapper and singer said, “There were many reasons why I didn’t show up in the U.S., and none of them were out of hate—I’ve performed there many times. But there was the issue of—like, [expletive] ICE could be outside [my concert]. And it’s something that we were talking about and very concerned about.”

In a statement about performing at the Super Bowl, per NBC New York, the music sensation said, “What I’m feeling goes beyond myself. It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown… this is for my people, my culture, and our history.”

Three-time Grammy-winner Bad Bunny, 31, is a global sensation whose 2020 album — “El Último Tour del Mundo” — became the first all-Spanish record to reach number one on the Billboard 200, according to Biography.

Bad Bunny is best known for hit songs including “Titi Me Pregunto,” “Dakiti,” “Moscow Mule,” and “I Like It,” a chart-topping hit with Cardi B and J Balvin.

Within 30 minutes of posting the news of Bad Bunny performing the Halftime Show at Super Bowl LX, millions had reacted to the announcement on social media, including one fan who wrote on Instagram, “Heard there’s a football game during bad bunny’s concert?????”
