This holiday season, Christmas trees across the land will be adorned with a handsome new ornament, quite literally. Beloved rom-com star Tyler Hynes will become only the second Hallmark Channel fan-favorite to get his own limited-edition Hallmark ornament, following Christmas queen Lacey Chabert’s in 2025.
On September 10, 2026 — exactly one month before Hynes’ mini-me ornament is available for purchase online and in Hallmark’s Gold Crown stores on October 10 — the actor and producer posted an over-the-top, tongue-in-cheek video of himself unboxing his own bust.

The limited edition Hallmark Keepsake ornament is a minature version of Hynes’ head, with meaningful charms hung above it like mistletoe — in the shapes of a heart, a dog, and a holiday boot (to represent his Boot Shot tradition with fans).
With the dramatic theme from Stanley Kubrik’s “Space Odyssey 2001” playing (no surprise, given Hynes’ passion for historic cinema), Hynes filmed himself unboxing the ornament as sun rays beamed onto his miniature head. Rusty, whose likeness was turned into one of tiny golden charms, gave the ornament an approving lick and even rose up on his two hind feet, in awe (we think) of seeing his dad’s tiny head hanging from holiday string. Hynes wrote in the caption, “Rusty James taste tested 🐺 T on a tree was requested.”
Hynes also gave a serious shout-out to the Hallmark artists who made the ornament possible, which took months of planning and revisions, he previously told EntertainmentNow, noting that he’d never understood or appreciated the process before.
“It’s really easy for you to look like something or somebody else,” he said of designing an ornament in someone’s likeness. “What if people were like, ‘Ohhh, it doesn’t look like him at all.’ I didn’t want that. But these artists are known in this space. People collect their (designs), they appreciate the details.”

Fans and famous friends flooded Hynes’ post, many with hilarious reactions, including from his Hallmark pal Jonathan Bennett, who quipped, “I’m wearing that and hardly anything else this Christmas.” Hynes replied, “to quote @iambjbritt ‘that checks out.'”
Longtime Hallmark star Taylor Cole commented, “Masterpiece really. 🙌” and Hynes cutely responded, “be cooler with your face on it 👑🤍”
Hallmark alum and “General Hospital” star Cameron Mathison teased, “Omg heading to the website rn😍”
Most fans were swooning over the ornament, enchanted by the attention to detail, but they left some pretty humorous reactions, too, including someone who wrote, “need this! Is the unboxing by you included??” while someone else joked, “The perfect ornament doesn’t exis………..”
Another noted, “Poor Rusty he had to be a bit confused with your floating head😆His reaction is priceless!!! 🤍🥰”
But there were a couple of holdouts; Hynes couldn’t quite sway all of them to buy it, like the fan who wrote, “Call me when you have an Andrew Walker ornament” and another who deadpanned, “I’m impressed. I don’t want one, but still impressed.”
How to Get Your Own Tyler Hynes Ornament
Since Hallmark Cards, Inc. began producing its popular Keepsake Christmas ornaments in the early 1970s, the company has released over 8,500 designs and inspired over 500 local chapters of collectors across the U.S. and Canada, per Visit KC.
However, it’s very rare for a Hallmark ornament to feature an actual person like Chabert and Hynes, but not completely unheard of. A series of Marilyn Monroe ornaments were designed in the late 90s and a number of Elvis Presley ornaments have been issued over the years.
Chabert’s ornament, a full-body replica of her in a sleeveless red gown, sold out quickly in 2025 and Hallmark Media confirmed to EntertainmentNow that it will not be available again this year. The Tyler Hynes Keepsake Ornament is highly likely to go fast, too. They will be released online on October 10, and in Hallmark’s local Gold Crown stores nationwide.
Hynes, who will next appear in Hallmark’s “The Nights Before Christmas,” said in his September 10 post that he’ll be on-hand at the Hallmark Christmas Experience in Kansas City during the event’s first two weekends to autograph ornaments.
