Reports surfaced in March 2026 that Bravo had decided to pause “The Real Housewives of Miami.” After that, Andy Cohen confirmed the news, implying that the show’s future was determined by low viewership. Now, original RHOM cast members Alexia Nepola and Marysol Patton are sharing new thoughts on the news.
Nepola and Patton attended the New You Media Beauty Awards in March 2026. While there, they interviewed with The Daily Mail, giving updated comments on RHOM coming to an end. When asked how they felt after hearing the news, the ladies said in unison, “We were shocked.”
They both then said they were “disappointed” after sharing so much during season seven of RHOM.
Alexia Nepola & Marysol Patton Discuss the Need For RHOM
As the Daily Mail interview continued, Nepola and Patton discussed why they found the pause in RHOM shocking. Notably, they agreed that Miami is often at the epicenter of popular culture, meaning Bravo needs a show like it on its lineup.
Nepola said, “I just feel like Miami is such a unique city. You know, it’s so popular right now, like the world wants to see it.” Patton then said, “And everybody wants to live here. And our stories are like, the universe, the whole internet is blowing up, they can’t believe this is happening.”
When asked why she believed the show was canceled, Nepola said it was due to ratings. According to her, “Unfortunately, we don’t have the ratings that the other cities do, and we hope to change that.”
After that, she stated that the show never had the right programming and noted how other “Housewives” shows go into production shortly after the reunions. However, RHOM has several months, maybe almost a year, between the reunion and the start of filming, which means the show loses steam between seasons.
Andy Cohen Also Reacted to the News
GettyFollowing the report about “The Real Housewives of Miami” being put on pause, many Bravo fans were eager to hear what Cohen had to say, as he’s an executive producer of the franchise as a whole. He reacted on “Radio Andy,” noting that he had received “heat” for the decision.
According to Cohen, “I get the credit, and I get the blame. And I will say, this was not my decison and by the way, look, I’m an EP on all of these shows. If it were up to me, they would be rolling all the time.” After that, he stated that RHOM fans should convince their friends to watch the show.
He added, “This is a ratings game after all.” Despite Bravo putting “The Real Housewives of Miami” on pause, fans can stream the show on Peacock.
