Andy Cohen Responds to Backlash Over RHOM’s Pause

It has now been confirmed that Bravo will not move forward with season 8 of “The Real Housewives of Miami” after several cast members responded to the initial reports. Now, several days later, Andy Cohen has taken to his radio show to respond to the backlash from RHOM fans.

While appearing on his “Radio Andy” show, Cohen addressed “The Real Housewives of Miami” going on a pause. Luckily, Jay’s Reality Blog on X has the clip. He and his cohost first discussed the “heat” he received following the news, with Cohen saying, “I get the credit, and I get the blame.”

The “Watch What Happens Live” host then said, “And I will say, this was not my decison and by the way, look, I’m an EP on all of these shows. If it were up to me, they would be rolling all the time.”

After that, he reiterated that the show is paused, despite many RHOM fans agreeing that being on pause is essentially the same as being canceled. From there, Cohen urged “Real Housewives of Miami” fans to tell their friends to watch the show, saying, “This is a ratings game after all.”

Cohen’s comments follow Variety’s March 18 report that Bravo had decided to put the show on pause due to low viewership.

The ‘Real Housewives of Miami’ Cast Has Responded

Season seven of “The Real Housewives of Miami” concluded in October 2025. Months after, speculation began to rise that Bravo may decide not to film the eighth season right away. Now, following the confirmation of its pause, some of the cast have reacted.

One is original cast member Alexia Nepola. She said on Instagram, “As a proud Latina, being part of a platform like RHOM on Bravo has always meant more to me than just reality television—it’s meant visibility, representation, and having a voice.

Hearing that the show is currently on pause is disheartening, and it’s hard not to feel the weight of that. Opportunities like this are rare, and they matter. They open doors, challenge perceptions, and allow our stories—and our culture—to be seen and celebrated on a larger stage.”

Nepola later said in the post, “This isn’t goodbye… it’s simply see you soon.”

According to Deadline, Larsa Pippen offerd her reaction. She said, “Miami women are resilient. We’ve always moved with strength, even when overlooked. For years, we’ve existed as something of an underground force, building, thriving, and showing up, and still prevailed.

We are a vibrant, diverse group of women from every background, culture, and walk of life. We represent diversity. And if there’s one thing Miami women know how to do, it’s come back stronger. More powerful. More connected and ore united than ever.”
