Ashley Iaconetti may now be a cast member of “The Real Housewives of Rhode Island,” but that doesn’t mean that she’s an expert on all of the show’s ins and outs, not to mention the drama. Indeed, the star just made a surprising confession that has to do with being a viewer — or rather, not being a viewer — of the “Real Housewives” franchise.
While answering questions from her Instagram followers, Ashley revealed that she’s never watched a “Real Housewives” show.
“I *think* I’m glad I went in pretty blind,” she wrote (via Bachelor Nation). “I used to think people who went on ‘The Bachelor’ without watching it first were oddballs, now here we are.”
Granted, Ashley did get a few glimpses at the franchise back in the day. She explained, “I used to watch it in the background when my mom would watch OG RHONY.”
Ashley Opened Up About ‘RHORI’ …a Little
GettySoon after the annoucement had been made that Ashley had joined “RHORI,” she spoke about her new role during an episode of her “Almost Famous” podcast.
“The reason I was gone a lot over the summer was because I was filming ‘The Real Housewives of Rhode Island,’” she told listeners as well as her co-host, Bachelor Nation alum Ben Higgins. “I truly can’t say much more than you can check out the trailer, which dropped at BravoCon.”
She also said that it’s been “very fun” to see how fans have reacted to the news and added, “Thank you all for being so supportive and saying the sweetest things about me being on there, I appreciate that so much.”
Ashley Says Filming ‘RHORI’ Was an ‘Experience’
GettyWhile chatting about “RHORI” on her podcast, Ashley admitted that it “was an experience for sure.”
She couldn’t reveal much more, saying, “I don’t know when it’s gonna air, I don’t even know if I can give a timeline as to what the estimated airtime is.”
However, she did note, “It was a lot different than ‘The Bachelor,’ I will say that. … It is a very fun, exciting time to kind of go through the cycle again, especially with so many nice people out there rooting for me.”
Saying that it’s “a little less scary” to be on TV this time because she’s gone through it before, she added, “At least, like, you guys kind of understand who I am and hopefully that still stays reflected throughout the show.”
