Denise Richards’ latest podcast appearance sparked a viral moment after she jokingly agreed that her oldest daughter, Sami Sheen, is “Charlie’s karma.”
Now, Sami herself has weighed in.
The 22-year-old responded with a simple but telling comment after a clip from the former “Real Housewife of Beverly Hills” star’s appearance on Bunnie XO’s “Dumb Blonde” podcast circulated on social media. Rather than pushing back on the comparison, Sami appeared to embrace the joke, replying:
“hahaha this is so funny.”
The lighthearted reaction quickly fueled conversation among fans, especially given the well-documented ups and downs in Sami’s relationship with her father, Charlie Sheen.
Denise Richards Says Sami Gives Charlie ‘A Run for His Money’
During her appearance on “Dumb Blonde,” host Bunnie XO brought up Charlie while discussing Richards’ outspoken eldest daughter.
“I feel like she’s kind of Charlie’s karma in a way,” Bunnie said.
Instead of disagreeing, Richards laughed and replied, “You don’t have to cut it out.”
Bunnie continued, “I feel like she gives him a run for his money, and he needs that.”
Richards agreed.
“Oh, she does,” she said. “She, out of all the kids, I feel, stands up to him the most. And you know, and he does need it. We all do.”
The actress went on to praise Sami’s confidence, even if it occasionally lands the family in headlines.
“I wish I had her confidence when I was her age,” Richards said. “However, I do wish sometimes she filtered herself a little bit. When she’s saying stuff, sometimes. But I’d rather her be the way she is. She’s not afraid to be who she is, and that’s something that I really admire in her.”
Richards also contrasted Sami with her younger daughter, Lola Sheen, explaining that the sisters have very different personalities despite growing up in the same household.
Sami and Charlie’s Relationship Has Been Complicated
Sami’s response comes just weeks after she made headlines for opening up about her strained relationship with Charlie.
In a TikTok video shared in July, Sami pushed back against assumptions that her father financially supports her.
“Look, if I had Daddy’s money, I would own it, OK?” she said. “I would let you guys know, but these comments make me so frustrated because this man has not given me a dime in over four years.”
She added, “I’ve been fully financially supporting myself since I was 18 years old.”
Sami later claimed the last conversation she had with Charlie centered on his reported purchase of a car for her younger sister, Lola. According to Sami, she asked whether he would instead buy her a horse for a similar price, saying that exchange ended their communication.
Despite those public comments, Charlie has previously expressed hope that their relationship can be repaired.
During an appearance on “Good Morning America” last year, the actor said, “As long as everybody is still in the game, there’s always a shot for a better tomorrow.”
He added, “Her and I will work it out. We have a history of that that’s too valuable to let some moment destroy all of that.”
For now, however, Sami doesn’t seem bothered by being labeled her father’s “karma.” If anything, her laughing response suggests she’s perfectly happy to let the internet enjoy the joke.
