Former “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Jacqueline Laurita and her only daughter, Ashlee Holmes, famously clashed on earlier seasons of the Bravo series. But with time, and a lot of growth, their bond has strengthened, and the two share a much healthier, happier dynamic.
On Dec. 1, Laurita took to Instagram to share a touching birthday shoutout to her eldest child, who just turned 35. For longtime RHONJ fans, it was a shock to realize how much time has passed since Ashlee first graced the show as a teenager, and many were delighted to see her and Jacqueline in such a good place today.

RHONJ star Jacqueline Laurita penned a touching birthday shoutout to her only daughter, Ashlee Holmes, who just turned 35 on Dec. 1. Laurita’s post included a collection of photos of Holmes, with many being throwbacks of the two posing together throughout the years.
She captioned her birthday post to her daughter, “Happy Birthday @ashleeholmes ! 35 is the year to thrive! Wishing you love, peace, happiness, wealth and good health beautiful girl! Enjoy! I love you! Xoxo! 🎈🥳🎂🥂🍾🫶💕.”
Holmes acknowledged her mom’s sweet post, commenting, “Thank you. Love you. 🫶🏼”
Holmes, who is now a mother to a 9 year old son named Cameron, also shared a post on Instagram about turning 35. Sharing a photo of herself as a child, her lengthy caption detailed the many challenges she’s overcome in the past decade, believing that all the difficulties she’s faced have shaped who she is today.
The end of her caption read: “The leap from 25 to 35 has been violent (to say the least), chaotic, confusing, yet still occasionally beautiful. I’ve been through the absolute MOST this past decade of my life ha… but every messy bit of it made me who I am today. I’m proud of me, and I think little me would be too. I still have work to do. Some lessons I’ve had to learn more than once. I’m sure there will be some more character development plot twists along the way 🫠… but I’m getting there. I’m looking forward to the next ten years. Trusting His plan. 🙏🏼”
Laurita and Her Family Moved to California in 2023
Laurita and her family, including her husband, Chris Laurita, and their two sons, Christopher “C.J.” and Nicholas, are no longer New Jersey residents and are now living in Orange County, California.
According to Bravo, the Lauritas made the big move cross-country in 2023 to support Chris as he expanded his company, Velocity Global Brands. Before the move, the family lived in Las Vegas.
Speaking to Teresa Giudice on her former “Namaste B$tches” podcast, Laurita shared her honest thoughts on the big move. “I don’t even want to leave Vegas or my family. It sucks. But at least I’m going to a beautiful place… We’re going there because [Chris] just expanded his office [and] opened a new place in the OC,” she said.
However, in June 2024, Laurita told Giudice on her “Turning the Tables” podcast that she’s gotten used to living out West, admitting that it has been better than she imagined.
“I’ve been going out more here than I have anywhere else in my life,” she said. “Now we go out all the time.”
In fact, Laurita has even been spotted hanging out with a few ladies of RHOC!
