Kyle Richards is defending her décor. “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star addressed fans who took issue with her elaborate Halloween decorations, which include a tree for the spooky season.
Speaking on her Amazon Live stream in October 2025, Richards clarified one of the holiday items fans noticed on her Instagram stories.
“Yes, I have a Halloween tree,” the RHOBH star confirmed. “I’ve never had a Halloween tree, by the way. But, hey, if they sell it, I’m gonna buy it. So, I was really excited. I really get excited to make my house feel cozy, inviting, and happy-feeling.”
“My girls love it,” she added. “Alexia came home the other night and we all had dinner, and she was so excited about that. She’s like, ‘I need a Halloween tree!’ But it feels so cute and cozy, and this really gets you in the mood for fall. I don’t know, I love it.”
She also noted that fans had very strong feelings about the tree.
“Some people were very worked up thinking it was a Christmas tree, which, I mean, they should see my sister Kathy [Hilton],” Richards added. “She has a tree up year-round, at least downstairs. Little strange, not gonna lie.”
Richards’ comments about the fall vibes in her Encino home came after she posted several Instagram stories that showcased her Halloween decor. She captioned one photo to tell fans, “That is a HALLOWEEN tree, not a Christmas tree. Let me live.”
Kyle Richards Is a Huge Halloween Fan
GettyRichards is a big Halloween fan, and not just because she appeared in the original “Halloween” movie in 1978, as well as two sequels in 2021 and 2022.
In an interview with LadyGun magazine, she said she always gets her house decorated because “Halloween marks the beginning of the holiday season for me.”
She also recalled trick-or-treating by herself in a New York City apartment building when she was a child.
“I remember when Paris was born, my mom and I went to New York to help Kathy and Rick take care of her. I was, I think, 11 years old,” she recalled. “They were in an apartment building then. I remember them being super busy with the baby, taking care of her, so I just put on one of Kathy’s outfits as a costume, like I was a fancy grown-up, and I went through the building by myself, knocking on strangers’ doors, trick-or-treating. Nobody seemed to bat an eye at that though, and I got the candy. I feel like I was so young to be doing that!”
Kyle Richards Jumps Right Into Christmas Mode on November 1
EntertainmentNow/GettyWhile Richards loves Halloween, she doesn’t keep her décor up long after the October 31st holiday. In a 2024 interview with Parade, she revealed, “After Halloween decorations go down, the Christmas decorations go up. ….Way before Thanksgiving, I always have everything up.”
She also shared that she sticks to traditional Christmas decorations.
“I don’t go tacky Christmas,“ she said. “I like to do just a traditional vibe.”
She added, “I do more of like a prettier pastel in the living room. …I’ve got the reds and the greens and just whatever the kids think are the most fun.”
