PK Kemsley Speaks Out in New Interview on Dorit Split and RHOBH Impact

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” alum Paul ‘PK’ Kemsley is opening up in rare detail about his separation from Dorit Kemsley — and the complicated role reality television may have played in their relationship.

Speaking on the “We Need to Talk” podcast, hosted by Paul Carrick Brunson, PK reflected on the evolution of his marriage, making clear he is not placing direct blame on the show, but acknowledged that its impact is something he continues to wrestle with.

“I’m not blaming my divorce on ‘The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,’” he said. “But the truth is the biggest question I have is — is Dorit where she was always going to be, or was I responsible for putting her in that world and that world created what happened now?”

A Decade-Long Marriage Comes to an End

Dorit Kemsley and Paul ‘PK’ Kemsley were married for nearly a decade after tying the knot on March 7, 2015, in New York City.

The couple announced their separation in May 2024 after nine years of marriage. In April 2025, Dorit filed for divorce, marking a significant turning point after years of sharing their relationship publicly on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”

Throughout their time on the show, their marriage was a central storyline, making the split especially notable for longtime viewers.

A Relationship That Changed Over Time

PK admitted that his own ambitions played a role in the couple joining the Bravo series in the first place.

“I wanted money. I wanted status,” he said. “They casted for the Housewives. I’d never seen the show. Didn’t know anything about it. But I believed I had the most beautiful, charismatic, ferociously ambitious wife. And I wanted to show her off.”

That decision, he suggested, may have set off a chain of events that ultimately reshaped their relationship.

“So we did it,” he continued. “And the rest, unfortunately, is history.”

Over time, PK described a growing disconnect between the person he knew privately and what he felt was being portrayed publicly.

“Nothing like the person they’re showing,” he said. “And then I’m looking at my wife and saying, ‘Who are you?’ It’s scary when you look at it.”

Looking Back at the Highs — and the Turning Point

Amid the reflection, PK also pointed to earlier moments in their relationship that he remembers fondly, offering a contrast to where things stand today.

“I remember living in Tribeca, we had a beautiful apartment, Dorit and me, and then we had the baby and life was pretty [expletive] good,” he said.

He also took accountability for his role in how things unfolded.

“Who drove the bus into the wall? Me,” PK said. “Much like I had done many times in my life.”

Still, one question continues to linger for him.

“The biggest question I have that will never be answered — is Dorit where she was always going to be… or was I responsible for putting her in that world and then that world created what happened now?”

Concerns About the Show’s Impact

PK also raised concerns about how reality television narratives can shape perception — both publicly and personally.

“The show likes to go back and only talk about bad things,” he said. “They build up this vision of who you are as a person, who you are as a couple. And then you start repeating it and start believing it.”

“And then suddenly you find yourself saying, ‘What are you talking about? I’m nothing like that guy. What are they showing?’”

Protecting Their Children Moving Forward

Despite the challenges, PK emphasized that his focus now is on protecting the couple’s children as they navigate the separation. He and Dorit share two children together, son Jagger and daughter Phoenix.

“The only real victims are going to be the kids unless we’re careful,” he said. “So I’m going to do all I can to protect them.”

He added that concerns about public exposure were something he had raised before.

“I’ve always said… don’t do this. The kids are gonna read it at some point,” he said. “But I’m not in control of her decisions. And she’s not in control of my decisions.”

No Return to Reality TV

Looking ahead, PK made it clear he has no interest in returning to a show like “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”

“No. No chance,” he said.

He cited the emotional toll of public scrutiny and online commentary as a major factor in that decision.

“I know that I’m very affected emotionally… People are so vile. They write terrible [expletive] things,” he said. “You say, why are you even reading it? But I can’t avoid the clips and the trailers.”

    • Brother-man, (a) looks aren’t everything, (b) there’s alotta makeup, aka fake-up, filler, smoothing, botox, nips, and tucks going on there. So okay she’s pretty, but she’s also just a typical ‘strong, independent woman’ which means she’s very masculine-acting, disrespectful, and while cute, not particularly feminine-acting.
