The entertainment industry is mourning the loss of someone young and loved: Jordan Wright, best known for his appearance on the British reality show “The Only Way Is Essex,” has passed away at 33. His death was reported earlier this week, and it was revealed that he died in Thailand. His body was discovered near Bang Tao Beach in Phucket, lying face down in a drainage canal, The Mirror reports.
New CCTV footage shows Wright running and appearing to be panicked, adding another horrifying layer to what may have happened to him in the moments before his passing.
Police Make New Statement on Jordan Wright After CCTV Footage
The footage, which has been circulated by multiple media outlets, shows Wright “behaving erratically,” The Mirror reports. He is outside of his hotel, Hotel COCO Phuket Bangtao, before he runs out of view of the cameras. He also appears to be looking behind him. Now, police are considering that there could have been someone else involved in his death, who may have been following him.
Lieutenant Colonel Sutthirak Chuthong of Choeng Thale district station made a statement about Wright’s death and the details surrounding it. “The circumstances leading up to the death are quite unclear. It is possible that other people were involved,” he said, The Mirror reports.
In an earlier statement, Chuthong shared that concern for Wright began after the hotel was unable to contact him. “A search of the room revealed no signs of forced entry or other irregularities,” he said, The Mirror reports. “Hotel records showed that he had checked in alone and was due to check out on March 13, but staff reported that he never checked out. CCTV footage showed that he appeared restless and was moving back and forth in front of the hotel before leaving the area.”
He continued, “We cannot confirm the exact cause of death until the autopsy results are released. If relatives or friends have concerns about the cause of death, they can contact the police station.”

Wright was found alone, with some of his belongings scattered nearby. His cause of death is undetermined, but authorities are awaiting the results from his autopsy and toxicology tests.
In the days since the news of his tragic passing, tributes have been pouring in from those who knew and loved him. This includes a comment from his “The Only Way Is Essex” co-star, Chloe Brockett, who wrote on his Instagram, “Rest in peace Jordan.”
