The sudden death of reality TV star Jordan Wright has left loved ones and fans in shock, as new details continue to emerge from Thailand. The former “The Only Way Is Essex” personality has died at just 33. Deadline reported that his body was found in a drainage canal near Bang Tao Beach after he had been missing for two days.
Authorities in Thailand confirmed his identity, while officials in the United Kingdom said they are supporting his family during the devastating time.
Wright, who also appeared on MTV’s “Ex on the Beach,” had moved to Thailand months earlier in search of a fresh start. In recent posts, he shared that he was beginning to feel at home, making the loss all the more heartbreaking.
Police Share Details From Scene and Hotel Investigation
As per Metro UK, the police said there were no immediate signs of an assault or struggle. Wright was found face down in the canal, dressed in a grey shirt and black trousers, without shoes.
A keycard for the Coco Phuket Bangtao Hotel was found in his possession, while his phone was discovered on the nearby canal bank. Investigators also examined his hotel room and reported no signs of forced entry or any unusual activity.
His body has been taken to Vachira Phuket Hospital, where an autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
CCTV Footage Sheds Light on His Final Movements
Investigators said hotel records show Wright checked in alone and was expected to check out on March 13, but he never did.
Metro UK reported that the police reviewed CCTV footage from the area, which showed him outside the hotel in the hours before he disappeared. Officers said he appeared unsettled, pacing back and forth before eventually leaving the property.
His movements later led toward the area where his body was found. Authorities believe he may have died up to two days before he was discovered.
The case remains under investigation as officials await the results of the post-mortem examination.
Tributes Pour In for TOWIE Star Gone Too Soon
As questions remain, those who knew Wright are holding on to the memories he left behind, remembering not just his time on television but the fresh start he had hoped to create.
Just days before his death, Wright shared a glimpse of the life he was building in Thailand, posting a message that suggested he had begun to feel at peace. “I’m home. FT The best bath I’ve ever taken.”
In the wake of the news, tributes quickly poured in from friends and fellow reality stars, many of whom remembered him with warmth and disbelief.
His former manager also spoke about the lasting impact Wright had on those around him. In a statement to The Daily Mail, he said: “I’m a good judge of character, and I knew Jordan was a great person from the moment I met him. “He was a very good-looking lad, fun, with a great, wide smile. He tried TV for a bit, but DJing was his real passion; that’s what he wanted to focus on.”
“Rest in peace Jordan,” wrote Chloe Brockett. “Rest in peace, Jord,” added Chloe Crowhurst.
Influencer Scarlett Ellis shared, “Such a lovely person gone far too soon. Rest peacefully Jordan.”
