Marc Forster’s “Stranger Than Fiction” is a relatively little-known gem of a movie with a truly fantastic cast.
The fantasy romantic comedy-drama’s plot is as follows: “I.R.S. auditor Harold Crick suddenly finds his mundane Chicago life to be the subject of narration only he can hear: narration that begins to affect his entire existence, from his work to his love life to his death” (per IMDb).
It stars Will Ferrell as Crick, with Maggie Gyllenhaal, Dustin Hoffman, Emma Thompson, and Queen Latifah providing him with brilliant support.
It grossed an underwhelming $53.7 million worldwide, having cost $30 million to make (per Box Office Mojo). However, it does hold a more fitting 73% approval rating at Rotten Tomatoes.
Released on November 10, 2006, the movie will turn 20 years old this year. With that in mind, wouldn’t it be cool to see the cast today, compared to how they looked when it hit theaters? Let’s do that now…
