“General Hospital” fans got quite the shock when Nina (Cynthia Watros) injected Jack (Chris McKenna) with the drug that Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) uses to keep Drew (Cameron Mathison) incapacitated. Watros has opened up about the aftermath of the event, what it means for her alter ego, Nina, and more.
Cynthia Watros Talks Fallout of Nina Stabbing Jack
In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, Watros admitted it wasn’t a great day for Nina. All the character wanted to do was stop the fight between Jack and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart), but she did so much more than that.
“She is terrified. I think she’s thinking about her daughter first, and then she’s thinking about, ‘How is this going to affect me?’ This is very high-stress for her,” the actress expressed to the outlet.
“General Hospital” fans saw Nina freak out at the hospital before she called Willow to let her know Drew never got the drug. It was a good thing Nina called Willow when she did, because Drew was just about to make a call and expose all.
Nina’s terrified of what will happen to Jack and the impact it will have on her and her daughter. After all, Jack hid critical evidence that likely would have gotten Willow convicted of shooting Drew.
Watros also explained that Nina doesn’t feel great about what she did and is seriously concerned about Jack.
“It is not in Nina’s nature to put someone in the hospital because of something she did, so a lot is going on in her head. She is worried about him as a human being. She might not like him or even really know him, but I think we’ll see this bring her more compassion toward him,” she spilled.
The soap star didn’t give away any real spoilers, but thanks to the “General Hospital” preview video, she did reveal that Nina and Willow face the wrath of Sidwell (Carlo Rotta). Willow got help from Sidwell to deal with Drew and is now under his thumb.
Sidwell won’t like Nina bringing unwanted attention to the fact that both Jack and Drew had the same medical condition. It will raise red flags, which it did with Lucas (Van Hansis) and Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst), and Sidwell knows that means trouble for him.
‘General Hospital’s Cyntha Watros Praises Her Co-Stars
The scenes where Valentin and Jack were physically fighting in Drew’s house before Nina stabbed Jack were so much fun for Watros to film. Watros wondered how it would all play out when she read the script.
“The three of us worked with a fight coordinator and it was so frenetic, but came together so naturally. I think it really turned out great!” Watros stated.
One reason for that was her outstanding co-stars. Watros had nothing but kind words and heaps of praise for McKenna and Stuart. She also included Mathison in the mix, even though his character wasn’t in the scene.
The future isn’t looking so bright for Nina, but Watros is excited for what’s to come and is looking forward to fans seeing what’s next for her, Willow, Jack, Valentin, and Drew.
