On Friday, O’Hara’s agency, CAA, confirmed that the “Home Alone” actress has died in her Los Angeles home, per TMZ. While the cause of her death is unclear, it’s been reported that the actress passed away “following a brief illness.”

In 2020, O’Hara opened up about having a rare genetic condition called situs inversus, a rare genetic condition in which some organs are positioned in reverse inside the body.

“I’m a freak,” the actress joked during an interview with Kathryn Hall’s Virtual Happy Hour. “I don’t even know the name because I don’t want to know the name.”

The “Schitt’s Creek” star also revealed that she has dextrocardia, a type of situs inversus where the heart points toward the right side of the chest and other organs are flipped.

O’Hala recalled how she learned about her condition 20 years ago. “I love Western medicine, I just don’t want to be a part of it,” she said in the same interview. “But I had to get a TB test when our youngest was in co-op nursery school and I went to my husband’s doctor and he said let’s do some baseline tests, and one of them was an EKG.”

She continued, “When the doctor told us that my heart was on the right side and my organs were flipped, my husband immediately said ‘No, her head’s on backwards.’ Cheers to health!
