The wait to see Shemar Moore and Vivica A. Fox on “The Young and the Restless” is over. Ahead of their return to the CBS soap, a first-look video gives fans a tease of what to expect when these two hit Genoa City.
Watch Shemar Moore and Vivica A. Fox on ‘The Young and the Restless’
Fox returns to “The Young and the Restless” for the first time in 34 years as Dr. Stephanie Simmons, while Moore once again pops back in as Malcolm Winters. Moore’s last appearance on the CBS soap was in 2023 to help celebrate “The Young and the Restless” 50th anniversary.
This marks the first time Moore and Fox have appeared on-screen in over three decades. Stephanie and Malcolm’s homecoming stirs up old feelings, buried secrets, and a lot of drama.
“It feels good to be back. How about you? Catching up and trading stories?” Malcolm declared in the teaser.
Stephanie’s a bit cagey as she reveals she was catching up with someone. Her reaction doesn’t go unnoticed by Malcolm, who wonders if the conversation got a little heavy.
“The past gets complicated, doesn’t it?” Stephanie responds before the video goes dark, leaving fans anxiously waiting for Moore and Fox to be back in the mix on the CBS soap. Good news: it won’t be much longer, because Stephanie and Malcolm pop back up in Genoa City on Tuesday, April 7.
Malcolm and Stephanie won’t be sticking around for too long. They are just back for a brief arc and to bring some drama to the Winters family, aka Lily (Christel Khalil), Devon (Bryton James), and Nate (Sean Dominic).
The storyline will have lasting ramifications on many people in Genoa City, not just Malcolm’s family. Several fans are convinced that Malcolm and Stephanie’s brief romance back in the day led to a baby Malcolm doesn’t know about, and that the baby is Holden (Nathan Owens).
Shemar Moore Talks Special Bond With Vivica A. Fox
Even though it’s been decades since Moore and Fox shared the screen, it was like no time at all had passed for the Hollywood stars. Speaking with TV Insider, Moore gushed over getting to work with Fox again after all these years.
“It was really just a reunion of sorts, a party of sorts, to celebrate what Young and Restless has done for us, to really give us momentum in the game for us to continue to pursue our dreams. But Vivica is a hoot. She’s funny, and she was finding humor in scenes where there wasn’t humor. It was all good,” he expressed to the outlet.
The “S.W.A.T.” alum revealed that Fox has a special nickname for him: “Shemarsky.” When Moore was walking down “The Young and the Restless” hallway and heard that nickname, it made him smile and instantly go back in time.
Moore admitted that being back on set with Fox brought back a rush of memories from the good old days and made him appreciate that he still gets to come home to play after all these years.
