Playing For Her Mom
Kristina has talked very openly about one of the reasons she is playing “Survivor” season 49 is for her mother. She talked about her mother’s passing while on the show.
She said her mother passed away shortly after the birth of her grandkids. This was the result of a fentanyl overdose.
On the first anniversary of her mom’s death, she honored her with a beautiful carousel of photos on Instagram. She captioned the post, “It’s not fair that you won’t be here to see them grow up. I often catch myself trying to call you to let you know how much Kodi acts like us. I just feel heavy all the time. But I know you’d want more for us, so I’ve really been trying lately.”
She has been trying, as she said in another Instagram post, that she actually applied to be on the show on her mom’s birthday. Yeah, her mom has been with her, watching her this entire journey.
Kristina’s Key Moments on ‘Survivor’ 49
Kristina has played a pretty quiet game this season. She had a close tie with Steven and even played her Hidden Immunity Idol on him to keep him safe in the game.
However, it wasn’t needed the night she used it, as neither she nor Steven received a vote. Not sure if she could have kept it to this point, but I am sure she would like to have it right now.
Kristina is also the last person standing from the original Hina Tribe. They may have gone undefeated before any tribe swaps, but now there is only one castaway standing.
