‘Survivor’ Winner Reveals Her Unexpected Body Transformation After Competing on the Show

When most people think about what competing on “Survivor” might do their bodies, it’s safe to say most people think it’ll have them loosing a significant amount of weight. After all, not only are survivors living on a mostly rice-based diet, but they’re competing a brutal strength and endurance challenges too.

But, as it turns out, “Survivor” season 49 winner Savannah Louie went through a rollercoaster with her body after competing in seasons 49 and 50, and she’s opening up about it all.

Savannah Louie Reveals Body Transformation After Two Seasons

In a candid video on Instagram, Louie, who was voted off on Day 6 of “Survivor” season 50, got candid about how her body has changed since competing on the show.

To show the difference, she compiled a picture of her body two months before “Survivor” and another two months after she was voted out the second time around.

“The body on the right is about 30 pounds heavier, and both of these bodies are beautiful but it was wild to see my body change so quickly in such a short time period and feeling like I had no control over what I was consuming,” Louie said.

“People think you go on ‘Survivor’ to lose weight and all that weight loss, it is so temporary,” she continued. “When you get back around food, you are just insatiable.”

Among her cravings, Louie said she would eat a whole box of cookies in one sitting. “Eventually you do reach a point where you stop craving like a whole box of cookies,” she said. “You reach a point when you can just eat one or two or three.”

She continued, “It took a lot of time and took a good amount of therapy, but my weight eventually stabilized. I don’t look like this anymore, but I feel like I’m at a normal point.”

“When I was going through this journey, I felt really alone and I felt like I was going crazy,” she admitted. “So many people struggle with their relationship with food, and their body and how they see themselves.”

“If there’s anyone out there maybe feeling the same way, I hope that they feel less alone,” she continued. “I hope that they feel seen, and I hope they know they’re also beautiful and like there is hope.”

In the comment section, her fans are applauding her for speaking out about the subject. “Thank you for sharing this message,” one follower wrote. “It takes strength to share and I am proud that you’re being transparent about the challenges you faced. 🙌 💪”

“Thank you for sharing your experience ❤️ as someone who struggled with a relationship with food and has since healed it, (after several years of failing to find that peace) I can’t even imagine what the experience is like coming back from ‘Survivor,'” another commenter wrote.
