“The Bachelor” is opening the mansion doors again.
Bachelor Nation recently announced that casting is open for the upcoming season of the ABC dating show in an Instagram video featuring two familiar franchise faces: Rachel Recchia and Charity Lawson.
In the video, Recchia—who first appeared on Clayton Echard’s season of “The Bachelor” before leading season 19 of “The Bachelorette” alongside Gabby Windey—reminded viewers that “The Bachelor” is coming back for Season 30. Season 20 Bachelorette Lawson then shared that casting is now open for the upcoming season.
The announcement comes as ABC reveals its primetime lineup for later this year. “The Bachelor” will not be on air this fall, for the first time since before the COVID-19 pandemic. ABC exec Rob Mills previously told Variety that the season plans to air “midseason next year.”
The announcement is for “The Bachelor,” which traditionally casts women to date the lead. That is separate from Taylor Frankie Paul’s season of “The Bachelorette,” which would have featured Paul dating a group of men.
Still, the casting update comes during a notable stretch for the larger franchise. Paul’s “Bachelorette” season was pulled from ABC’s schedule before its planned premiere, leaving Bachelor Nation with a different path forward on TV.
‘Bachelor’ Casting Is Looking for New Singles
ABCBachelor Nation’s casting page says people can apply for themselves or nominate someone else. The site also directs applicants to review the eligibility requirements before submitting.
Recchia and Lawson kept the Instagram video light as they encouraged singles to apply. The “Perfect Match” star joked that applicants could be “single, looking to love, or maybe just a little delusional like me.”
The rest of the video leaned into the usual “Bachelor” pitch. The two mentioned the chance for romance, emotional moments, drama, and possibly finding a lasting relationship by the end of the season.
Lawson knows that part of the process well. Her season of “The Bachelorette” ended with her engagement to Dotun Olubeko. The couple is still engaged.
The casting call does not name a lead yet.
“No, we don’t need to. We have time. It won’t air until midseason next year,” ABC exec Rob Mills told Variety last month. “We want to get it right, and we’re looking at all sorts of options and having a lot of conversations about that.”
‘The Bachelor’ Will Have a New Showrunner
ABCThe upcoming season of “The Bachelor” will also come with a behind-the-scenes change.
Deadline reported in June 2025 that ABC renewed “The Bachelor” for season 30. The outlet also reported that Scott Teti was named executive producer and showrunner for the upcoming season.
Teti had already joined the franchise as executive producer and showrunner of “Bachelor in Paradise,” and the move to “The Bachelor” was expected, according to Deadline.
The outlet reported that Teti succeeds Claire Freeland and Bennett Graebner, who exited in March following allegations of a “toxic” workplace. Deadline previously reported allegations of a “hostile” environment behind the scenes of the franchise.
Before joining Bachelor Nation, Teti executive produced ABC’s “Claim to Fame” and Bravo’s “Summer House,” along with several “Married at First Sight” spinoffs, according to Deadline.
‘Bachelor in Paradise’ Is Also Coming Back
ABC“The Bachelor” is not the only franchise show set to return.
Us Weekly reported in April that Bachelor Nation confirmed both “The Bachelor” and “Bachelor in Paradise” were coming back after Taylor’s “Bachelorette” season was pulled from ABC’s schedule.
“It’s official! ‘The Bachelor’ and ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ are coming back to your screens 🌹,” the franchise’s Bachelor Nation account said in an Instagram post.
The update gave viewers a clearer look at what the franchise still had ahead after Paul’s season was removed from the lineup.
Taylor, who stars on “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,” had been announced as the next lead of “The Bachelorette.” Her season was later pulled from broadcast days before its planned premiere after a video of a physical altercation between Paul and her ex, Dakota Mortensen, had been leaked.
No word yet on whether that scrapped season of “The Bachelorette” will ever see the light of day.
