You may recognize Krystal Nielson — who now goes by Krystal Nielson Bowles — from her time as a member of Bachelor Nation. Nowadays, she is the mom of a toddler daughter and is expecting her second child, a son, with husband Miles Bowles. Although she’s getting closer to her due date, Krystal has also opened up in an encouraging and supportive message about the fertility journey she endured to get pregnant for a second time.
“If someone had told me it would take 20 months to conceive our second child, I wouldn’t have believed them,” Krystal wrote in the caption of a video she posted on Instagram on Wednesday, October 8. Accompanying clips showing her during the emotional months of trying to get pregnant, she also shares the day she got a positive pregnancy test.
“With our daughter, pregnancy came easily — we’re health-conscious, eat clean, and it happened right away,” she added. “Yet, this journey was different.”
“And now, at 9 months pregnant, I’m filled with gratitude for the lessons it brought,” Krystal continued. “I see it wasn’t about controlling every detail but learning to let go and cherish what I HAD, rather than focus on what was lacking. It was about coming back into my BODY and reconnecting with Her power. And having the humility and courage to ask for SUPPORT.”
Krystal ‘Found Peace’ Before Becoming Pregnant Again
Although Krystal had been enduring a difficult pregnancy journey, she revealed that something changed shortly before finding out she was expecting her son.
“The month before that positive pregnancy test, I found peace in the thought that we might only have one child,” she wrote in the caption of her Instagram post. “My daughter is more than I could ever dream of, and that acceptance brought calm to my heart. ❤️”
“So cliche, but it truly was when I began making plans that didn’t involve being pregnant that BAM 💥 it happened,” she recalled.
She explained, “This journey reconnected me with my body, helped me regulate my nervous system, and nurtured an inner peace I’ll carry into this next chapter as a mom of two.”
Finally, she sent her support to others, writing, “To all the mamas walking their own fertility path, I’m sending you so much love and baby dust. ✨ You are not alone. 🫶”
Fans Appreciated Krystal’s Openness
After Krystal shared her post to Instagram, her followers left comments thanking her for her message and sharing their own stories. One person wrote, “So proud of you and your beautiful journey!”
“This is exactly what I needed to hear today. We have been trying for almost 12 months and still nothing so thank you. I know our time will come but it’s so easy to get down and be hard on yourself,” someone else left in a comment.
Yet another person wrote, “This gives me so much hope. Approaching cycle 14 and I’ve just been so sad. #1 only took a few months so I’ve been so confused. Starting testing soon, hoping to find peace with whatever life has planned for us ❤️ thank you for sharing this.”
