Team Reba – Cori Kennedy vs. Aaron Nichols

Reba said they are both country singers, so that is why she put them up against each other. She said they are both so good that they would make a great duo. For Aaron, he’ll “Hurricane” by Band of Heathens. He said this song is about resilience. Joe Walsh said his song was so good, and he can really rip it, but he wanted more room for him to play guitar. For Cori, she’ll be singing “You and I” by Lady Gaga. She said before this show, she never sang with a band and dreamed of singing this song. Reba said she is really good and could sing any genre of music.

Aaron Nichols – Aaron kicks things off tonight on “The Voice” season 28. He has such a strong voice. He definitely reminds me of Chris Stapleton. Very solid country voice, but also just a smooth, easy-to-listen-to voice.

Cori Kennedy – This is a great song choice for Cori. I love the song by Lady Gaga. Cori makes it her own. She puts a little country twist on it, and it just works with her voice. Cori has a very strong voice, also, and this is going to be a tough one for Reba.

Coaches’ Feedback: Michael said they both were incredible. He wishes he had that gritty thing that comes so naturally for Aaron. Snoop Dogg said Aaron is a star whether he wins or not. Cori started mild, but then she got really hot and loves her confidence. Niall said Cori continues to shine. If that was on the CMAs, that would be all over the internet (for Aaron). Reba said Cori is a powerhouse, and all of Aaron’s hours in Nashville have paid off.

Results – Reba said she has no steal or save, so she has to pick one of them. She picks Aaron as the winner, and then hits the Mic Drop button for him. He now has a chance to perform at the Rose Bowl Parade. Cori has been eliminated.

Team Snoop – Carolina Rodriguez vs. Mindy Miller

Carolina was a steal for Snoop because he could not let her leave the competition. He said Mindy should be making music right now, and this is going to be one of the toughest decisions for him. For Carolina, she’ll be singing “Lovesong” by The Cure, but the Adele version. Zac Brown said there was a calmness while she was singing. For Mindy, she’ll be singing “In Color” by Jamey Johnson. She is dedicating this performance to her grandparents, who helped her discover her voice. Zac said he loved her song choice and thinks she captures the emotions of the song.

Mindy Miller – Such a perfect song choice for Mindy. Her voice was so fitting for this song. She is so good, and she hit those emotions of the lyrics. I loved this performance.

Carolina Ridguez – To be honest, I thought this might be a cakewalk for Mindy after her performance. However, Carolina came to play tonight on “The Voice” season 28. Another great song choice here, as it’s very fitting for her voice. I am impressed by both of these performances.

Coaches’ Feedback: Niall said Mindy is so solid and consistent. He said Carolina shocked him there, and on another level. Reba said Carolina was very sensual and mysterious. Mindy did a great job and represented country music like she has. Michael said he loves listening to Mindy, and Carolina really surprised him. Snoop said very proud of them. Carolina is amazing, and Mindy touched his heart tonight.

Results – Snoop picks Mindy Miller as the winner, so she is moving on to the Playoffs. That means Carolina has been eliminated.

Team Bublé – Jazz McKenzie vs. Teo Ramdel

Michael said they are probably the two biggest voices on his team. For Jazz, she is singing “Cruisin'” by Smokie Robinson. She said this song is grown and sexy, so we are going to see a different side of her. For Teo, he is singing “It’s My Life” by Bon Jovi. He said he didn’t pick a Spanish song, as he wanted to push himself out of his comfort zone.

Teo Ramdel – Teo kicks things off for this Knockout. While he has a very strong stage presence, I am not feeling it for this song choice for him. I think he did take a risk, and for me, it didn’t work. I do enjoy watching him perform, though.

Jazz McKenzie – While Teo had the stage presence, but was lacking a little on the vocals, but Jazz brings those vocals. This was a great performance, and she is owning that stage. She is confident and sounds excellent on this song.

Coaches’ Feedback: Snoop said it was a helluva performance by Teo, and Jazz is an exceptional vocalist. Niall said Teo makes every song his own, and Jazz is one of the best vocalists in this competition. Reba said she is in awe of Jazz and a great performance by Teo. Michael said he knows how hard Teo just worked, and God’s light radiates through Jazz.

Results – The winner of this Knockout is Jazz, which means Teo has been eliminated.
