“The Voice” coach alum Blake Shelton and his wife Gwen Stefani are about to have a bit of friendly competition!
Shelton is heading back to Las Vegas — and this time his residency dates are lining up right alongside those of Stefani, leading to a playful, good-natured rivalry between the country star and the No Doubt frontwoman.
Shelton Expects Some Friendly Competition
The two powerhouse performers are set to share the Vegas spotlight in May 2026, with overlapping return engagements that have become talking points among fans and media alike.
Shelton, 49, announced that he’d added eight new dates to his Live in Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace — slated for May 6, 8, 9, 13, 15, 16, 21 and 24 for 2026.
The extension follows his January performances and will put his shows in close proximity to “No Doubt Live at Sphere,” the highly anticipated Las Vegas concert series from Stefani’s band.
Her residency runs from May 6 to June 13.
While the two residencies are technically independent, Shelton described the situation as “direct competition” with a sense of humor — anticipating a bit of “trash talking” between them.
“I know there’ll probably be a little bit of trash talking,” Shelton said in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, positioning the situation as a source of fun rather than tension.
His remarks strike a playful note about the couple’s respective accomplishments — both individually and as a high-profile musical pair.
Shelton Laughed About the Difference in Capacity Per Venue
He laughed about the juxtaposition of dates, noting that the Sphere can accommodate around 20,000 fans compared to The Colosseum’s more intimate crowd of just over 4,000, giving Stefani’s band a numeric edge in the rivalry.
“Whether we both sell out, there’s a big difference in selling out the Sphere and selling out Caesars, so she’ll have that over my head,” he noted.
Despite the overlap, the couple has shown strong support for one another off the stage.
Shelton also highlighted that he and Stefani will share the stage together outside of Las Vegas, co-headlining the Endymion Extravaganza in New Orleans on Valentine’s Day 2026, which he jokingly called their “Valentine’s date.”
“Oh my God, I am so romantic. It’s unbelievable,” he humorously added. “I booked a date for Gwen and me in New Orleans, and I mean, we’re both having to do a concert, but a booking is a booking, and it is a date technically. Technically.”
