Gavin Rossdale Opens Up About Co-Parenting With Gwen Stefani
Since their 2016 divorce, Stefani and Rossdale have both spoken about their co-parenting dynamic.
Rossdale recently described the arrangement as separate but functional.
“It’s a very, it is an interesting kind of… it’s a two-lane highway, you know, but they don’t ever seem to merge, which is fine,” Rossdale said via Page Six.

“Probably doing the best she can, and I’m doing the best I can. And the kids are growing up, so I’m a proud proponent of the system. It’s fine,” he said.
Gwen Stefani’s Middle Son Channels Stepdad Blake Shelton
Stefani has since married Blake Shelton, who has also supported her children’s interests.
In July 2025, Shelton introduced Stefani’s son Zuma Rossdale onstage at his Ole Red bar in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, where Zuma performed in front of a crowd.
Before the performance, Shelton spoke about Zuma’s development as a performer.
“So tonight, we also have another up-and-coming artist who’s played here, I think, maybe three or four times now,” Shelton said on the Ole Red Instagram post. “It’s exciting for us because we hear him sit around the house playing, and we’re always the ones saying, ‘You gotta get out there and sing in front of people, man; you’re really talented.’”
Shelton has previously spoken about how becoming a stepfather has influenced his life.
“They’ve taught me something about myself that I never knew: I’m more than just a country singer or a goofy guy,” Shelton told People. “I’m someone they actually lean on.”
“It’s a different kind of self-worth,” Shelton continued. “Maybe it’s the opposite of self-worth because you put yourself way down on the rung, and they move up ahead of you.”
