Miley Cyrus Gives Update on Malibu Home Nearly 7-Years After Wildfire

Miley Cyrus is about to head back to a place she’s been missing for years; her Malibu home. The house was destroyed in the 2018 Woolsey Fire, and while the loss was devastating at the time, Cyrus just revealed that the rebuilt home is almost done. Yep, after nearly seven years of waiting, she’s about to walk through those doors again. For Miley, this isn’t just about having a new place to crash; it’s about reclaiming a piece of her past and turning it into something brand new.

Rebuilding After Loss

When the fire swept through Malibu in 2018, it left destruction in its path, and one of its casualties was the home Cyrus shared with then-husband Liam Hemsworth. For most people, losing a house means losing physical walls and furniture; but for Miley, it was also about losing a space that held pieces of her artistry and personal growth.

In her recent sit-down with Pamela Anderson for CR Fashion Book, Cyrus gave fans the update they’d been waiting for. “I’ve been working on a rebuild,” she said. “I lost my house in the Woolsey Fire and have been rebuilding now for the last five years. It looks like it’s going to be all ready for me in the next couple of weeks.”

You can feel the relief in her words. After years of hard work and patience, Cyrus is finally preparing to step into the next version of her Malibu home…  one that represents resilience as much as it does luxury.

A Home That Held “Magic”

Of course, the Malibu house wasn’t just any celebrity pad. Back in 2023, Cyrus opened up on TikTok in her “Used To Be Young” series about just how special it was. She said that the house “had so much magic to it” and explained that the house became the first place she recorded outside of the Hannah Montana world. “The Meet Miley Cyrus record was really where I started writing my own songs as a solo artist,” she shared.

The history runs deep. The producer she worked with at the time had also lived there before her, and when the fire hit, he too lost someplace he had once called home. It seems like for Miley, that Malibu space became a time capsule of creativity, growth, and freedom. Losing it wasn’t just about the walls burning down…  it was about losing a chapter of her story.

Looking Ahead with Hope

Now, Miley is on the cusp of turning the page. And “all ready in the next couple of weeks” sounds like more than a construction update…  it looks a lot like closure. And let’s be real: she’s not just getting her house back. She’s getting a fresh start in a space that once symbolized heartbreak but now carries a whole new kind of hope.

She’s even admitted before that, in some ways, losing the house pushed her to see things differently.

“Losing everything and being able to rebuild, and to be able to be purposeful and choose every piece that I’m gonna collect or also just about the people in my life. And I guess for me, when my house burned down, a lot of my relationships also burned down, and that again just led me to such magic and to have so much gratitude.”

So, as Miley prepares to move back in, it feels less like a return to the past and more like a step into a new era; one where she’s in total control of what the space becomes. If anything, her Malibu home now stands as a symbol of resilience, creativity, and the ability to rise from the ashes (literally).
