When Snoop Dogg wraps up season 28 of “The Voice,” he won’t have much downtime before his next big assignment with NBC. On September 28, 2025, the network revealed the legendary rapper will head to Cortina, Italy, to cover the 2026 Winter Olympics.
Snoop’s commentary was so popular during the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, he will team up again with NBC Olympics host Mike Tirico, providing primetime viewers in the U.S. with “his wintry take on what’s happening in northern Italy,” per NBC Sports.
Snoop Dogg Says He’s Pumped to ‘Get This Winter Olympics Poppin’
In a 15-second promo that aired during NBC’s coverage of the NFL matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers, Snoop stood on a snowy mountaintop, turned to the TV audience and exclaimed, “Guess who’s back!?”
Later in the “Sunday Night Football” broadcast, Tirico and Cris Collinsworth watched an amusing video message from Snoop, taken as he rode in a limo decked out with twinkling lights.
“Tirico, it’s your boy, big Snoop Dogg,” he said. “Dynamic duo. Remember me? I’ll be waiting on you in Milan, Cortina, so we can get this Winter Olympics poppin’. You know how we do it. In the meantime, in between time, hold it down till I get with you.”
Laughing, Tirico said, “I hear you! Alright, so Snoop is coming back to Italy” and then he turned to Collinsworth and asked, “How come you don’t roll as cool as Snoop?”
Collinsworth smirked, “I wish I had one one-millionth of that (cool factor) — I would take that!”
NBC Sports Says Snoop Dogg Will Bring Back His ‘Snoop’s Greatest Hits’ Segment
NBC Sports’ announcement about Snoop’s addition to its team of Olympics correspondents said, “Similar to Paris, he’ll explore the region’s iconic landmarks and culture, attend Olympic competitions, and cheer alongside the athletes, their friends, and families.”
He’ll bring back his “Snoop’s Greatest Hits” segment, in which he joins Tirico on the primetime set “to riff on the day’s biggest stories and most unforgettable moments with his unmistakable rhythm and style,” the announcement said.
Viewers couldn’t get enough of Snoop during the Paris Olympics, as he carried the Olympic flame, got to know and cheer on many of the American athletes, and attended some of the biggest events, including watching equestrian at the Palace of Versailles with his very proper pal, Martha Stewart.
Snoop Dogg Jokes He’ll Be ‘Iced Out’ at Winter Olympics
GettyIn a statement about the upcoming games, Snoop said, “The D O double G will be on the scene, and I am looking forward to celebrating with the athletes and their families. The Olympics is the biggest stage in the world and as everyone knows, I am about sports, bringing people together, and unifying while bringing the fun. I’ll be bringing my puffy jackets, snow pants, goggles, skates (and will definitely be iced out).”
Right after Super Bowl LX, the Milan Cortina Games will begin on February 6 at the most famous soccer stadium in Italy — the San Siro. The opening ceremony will air on NBC beginning at noon Eastern time that day, with primetime coverage kicking off at 8 p.m. Eastern time on both NBC and Peacock.
Once the Opening Ceremony is over, athletes from around the world will compete in a record 116 medal events in 16 sports across 16 days, NBC said.
But before Snoop focuses his energy on covering the Olympics, he has another job to do: coaching his season 28 team on “The Voice.” The next Blind Auditions air on September 29 and 30, with the season lasting through mid-December.
