Reba McEntire Receives Sweet Surprise After Earning 18th Grammy Nomination: ‘I’m So Grateful’

Beloved “Voice” judge Reba McEntire is celebrating another milestone in her legendary career. The Country Music Hall of Famer has earned her 18th career Grammy Award nomination, this time sharing the honor with Miranda Lambert and Lainey Wilson.

Their hit collaboration, “Trailblazer,” is nominated for Best Country Duo/Group Performance at the 2026 Grammy Awards. The song celebrates the pioneering women who paved the way in country music and was co-written by Lambert, Wilson, and acclaimed songwriter Brandy Clark.

Produced by McEntire and Tony Brown, the powerful anthem debuted live at the 60th Academy of Country Music Awards in May. It went on to earn 2.6 million on-demand streams in its first week, setting a new streaming record for McEntire.

Across her storied career, McEntire has been nominated for 18 Grammy Awards and has won three. In 1987, she took home her first Grammy for Best Female Country Vocal Performance for “Whoever’s in New England.”

She later won Best Country Collaboration with Vocals in 1994 for “Does He Love You,” her duet with Linda Davis, and in 2018, her gospel album “Sing It Now: Songs of Faith & Hope” earned her a Grammy for Best Roots Gospel Album.

This year’s nomination adds another highlight to McEntire’s four-decade-long run as one of country music’s most beloved voices.

A Big Night for Music & TV

The 68th Annual Grammy Awards nominations were announced Friday, November, marking a big day for McEntire. The second season of her hit NBC sitcom “Happy’s Place” also premiered that night at 7 p.m., followed by streaming on Peacock.

This year’s Grammy frontrunners include Kendrick Lamar with nine nominations, followed by Lady Gaga and producers Cirkut and Jack Antonoff with seven. Leon Thomas, Serban Ghenea, Sabrina Carpenter, and Bad Bunny each earned six nods.

For McEntire, the timing couldn’t have been more perfect: a new TV season, a major nomination, and a sweet surprise from her castmates who made the moment even more special.
