Reba McEntire and Rex Linn are officially engaged, as reported by People. The couple confirmed the happy news after an E! News reporter referred to them as fiancés on the 2025 Emmy Awards red carpet on Sunday, Sept. 14. McEntire, 70, and Linn, 68, first crossed paths in the 1990s but didn’t begin dating until 2020, when they reconnected during quarantine.

McEntire previously shared that Linn reached out to her in 2020, shortly after her mother’s passing. “In 2020, when Mama got sick, he called me,” she said on Today in October 2021. “We’d gotten to see each other before because we’re both on ‘Young Sheldon.’ So starting in March of 2020, we just kept talking and visiting and finally got together, see each other in June.”
How They Grew Closer in 2020
Their bond quickly deepened during lockdown. “And we’ve been pretty much inseparable ever since,” McEntire said. Earlier this year, she told Fox News that they “get along in every aspect.” She added, “He’s a better cook than I am, so I like that, for sure. We love Longhorns, we love the cowboy way of life, cowgirl way of life, and we both got into the entertainment industry.”
A Perfect Match On & Off Screen
The couple not only shares life but also works side by side. They currently star in the sitcom “Happy’s Place,” which Linn once described as “a dream come true.” He also emphasized their commitment to one another, saying, “We are best friends. We wanna cross the finish line with each other in a relationship.”
