Nate Bargatze Makes His Hosting Debut

Bargatze, 46, is stepping into the Emmys spotlight for the first time. Ahead of the ceremony, he told CBS News he is ready to bring humor without cruelty.

“I’m sure we’ll have jokes about shows and all that, but we’ll do it in a way that’s not mean-spirited,” Bargatze said on Sept. 9. “I’m excited. I’m used to performing for live people, not an audience like this of all people you know. It will be fun to get in there, get that first joke and get that first laugh and just get running and make it your own.”
